I realize that's not usually the case. I'm just reading about the benefits of coconut water and they're amazing. I'm trying to figure out if I can order some online or if I need to get actual coconuts. I'm not sure if the packaged products are going to have the same nutritional benefits or not. If anyone has any experience with this, has good links, lives in countries where this is commonplace....... I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.

Packaged coconut water is not good as fresh, but they are OK in case if the fresh ones are not available to you.

You can find this coconut water packages (usually 24packs in a card board box) are available at Indian Grocery Stores. They are costly.

The green coconuts in which you will get the healthy water are not easy to open.

Please feel free to ask / e-mail if you have any doubts about this.

Best Wishes

I don't like the taste of coconut water, I think it is an acquired taste, but it is full of enzymes and electrolytes, it's nature's Gatorade.

You should get it straight from the source, I do think that the coconut water I've had must've taken flavor from the packaging, now that I think about it that might be why it tasted sort of metallic...

A lot of the cannned coconut milk is not 100% coconut milk so check the can and see what the ingredients are. If it is 100% coconut milk then it's just as good as the fresh stuff, and a lot easier than cracking open a coconut.

I agree that nothing bottled or canned is as good as fresh.

Once you get the hang of opening a young/thai coconut, it really is easy. They do get expensive though.
