Go to www.stutteringhelp.org and you'll find loads of information on stuttering. Look in the estore for the book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" if there is not a specialist listed under "referrals" near you. Watch some of their videos as they show specialists working with stutterers.
Check out http://notesonstuttering.blogspot.com/ and http://groups.myspace.com/stutteringfoundation. The devices don't work for all stutterers, but they are the quickest "fix." Some stutterers have found that they worked at first but the effects wore off. These pages tell about them http://www.stutteringhelp.org/Default.aspx?tabid=67, http://www.stutteringhelp.org/default.aspx?tabindex=572&tabid=585, http://www.stutteringhelp.org/default.aspx?tabindex=575&tabid=588. Some drugs have helped some stutterers. Talk to your doctor about it.

I think the only effective way to get rid of a stutter is to go to speech therapy. My brother had one and went to a speech pathologist for about a year and it went away. It is about reforming the way your mouth and brain make words. Sometimes thinking about slowing down when you talk can help, since stuttering is more likely to occur when you are talking fast and not thinking about what you are saying.

There is a device that a stutterer puts into their ear. It somehow helps with the stuttering. I am sorry that I do not have more information than this. Maybe try google.

don't really know what to say because I'm not a doctor, but if you try to talk slower and not rush your words, and if you think about what you want to say and say it slower then maybe that would help some.
