Does anyone know why people are so negative and hateful in the V&V section? I just think all this negativity is not serving anyone. It doesn't represent what the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle is all about. I am a caring person who loves animals and I want to live a cruelty-free lifestyle. It really bothers me when I see vegans attacking others simply because they believe different than you. What we eat is a personal choice and we should respect others who eat differently than us.

caroline, it is not me who says those things. It is someone who has created a replica account. I am the type of person who tries to find something positive about situation. I am not a negative person.

rooketho, I understand you are frustrated, but hate is not the answer. I would like to extend my friendship to you and I would like to extend the same back to me in return. We have to learn to love one another and live in peace and harmony on this planet.

I guess it doesn't help when you get some vegans (and that is a minority) who are very hateful towards those who eat meat as part of a balanced diet. What really sickens me, is some people (like myself) believe that some meat is okay to consume. I would never eat factory farmed meat. All the meat I buy is free range, local and organic (I am lucky to live in a rural area). Therefore the animals are treated as humanely as possible. I even take meat from the wild when I get the opportunity. Most days I am meat free, I enjoy cooking and eating. Sadly, I have shared some of my vegan and vegetarian recipes on here only to have some vegans to have an attack on my views. I am all for constructive critics of my lifestyle, but some people (not mentioning any names Ashley) really are very hateful!
EDIT: Ashley, if people click onto your profile, then look at the questions you ask, they can see for themselves how spiteful and hateful you can be. And how unable you are to hold an intelligent level of debate. A good debater would try to persuade people to come to their way of thinking. All you do is put people off even looking into a vegan diet, let alone become a vegan!

I don't see very many issues with vegetarians/vegans being mean or attacking others, at least not without being provoked first. I've noticed it usually goes the other way though, with omnivores being rude or insulting, and then sometimes that gets everyone riled up and yelling back and forth and so on.
It seems to me that there are a lot of people who do not belong in this section. They seem to only be interested in mocking the v/v lifestyle and trying to create problems. How many "animal crackers" or "stranded on a deserted island" question have there been on here? Too many for me! How many times have you seen a rude, sarcastic, misinformed answer from a meat eater to an honest question asked about vegetarianism/veganism? Why do they think it's okay to mock us, yet get upset if we ever retaliate?
I wish we could all just learn to respect one another as well.
EDIT: Wow! I'm new to this section and don't come here too awfully much, so I haven't established who's authentic and who isn't, but Ashley, it sounds like you've made quite a few enemies here. Hmm...

A vegan or vegetarian rejects the perspectives of a meat eater, and vice versa. whether somebody has no situation with the different person eating what they want, they're nevertheless keeping an opinion that at as quickly as opposes that of the different. It reasons friction. It does not help that there are human beings from the two factors who've the writing and consider qualifications of a preteen, spewing out myths, a million/2-truths, and insults. I even have little appreciate for meat eaters who specially come to the veg. area to tell human beings they're incorrect, yet relatively, if somebody needs a solid, troll-loose ecosystem to earnings approximately vegetarianism, they must come across a internet site and communicate board specially FOR vegetarians and vegans, incredibly than an all-subjects Q&a area. ---------- JustBe makes a solid factor: Veg*ns do no longer troll human beings on different boards for cooking meat.

i see what you are saying but this negativity is usually directed at vegetarians from non-vegetarians and sometimes there's only so much one can take b4 u start to get defencive (with good reason). if u reckon that vegetarians r negative and have unkind words, its a defencive mechanism. i would use the same mechanism if someone said rude things about my religion or any other personal life choices i have made including my non-meat eating ways.

You hypocritical cow.
" What we eat is a personal choice and we should respect others who eat differently than us."
Do you respect meat eaters? NO you don't so why don't you shut up and practise what you preach.
Lets take a look at one of your other stupid questions
If eating meat is wrong, why do people keep doing it?
As we all know, eating meat is wrong. It was never intended for us to kill innocent animal beings for food. We have a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to sustain us. Meat eaters know this as well, but they pretend to believe in all the propaganda put out by the meat industry. There is no way a person can be so ignorant that they actually believe we need meat for protein. What I want to know is why they still do it even though they know it is wrong?
You are full of **** you stupid vegan. You aren't caring. Your a mean stupid cow who likes to make fun and disrespect all people who eat meat. YOU are the cause of all the negativiy in this forum. Do everyone a favour and flog off. That's right I said it flog off. Go speak to your little friends friends at your animal rights club and cry your stupid vegan tears to them.

I haven't noticed it.
And we're all V&Vs here, pretty much. So who's being attacked?
You're right it is a choice of a lifestyle. To some people its more than that though. It's more than how they eat. They honestly think that eating an animal is wrong and they will defend that belief. If anyone is offended, well they have no reason to be if we're all okay with us expressing our opinions. Just as meat eaters may express their opinions.

Are you starting again on the "lets turn the page" fake peace offering you tried a few months ago ?
Only to be followed by tons of abuse once you reeled people in.
Some people need to get a grip and realise Ashley is nothing more that a troll trying to dis vegans by pretending s/he is one.

I think that the negative and nasty comments from folks who feel hurt or threatened by vegetarianism. They assuage their fear by aggressions rather than eating their animal in peace and enjoying it no matter what someone else is eating. They get a kick and a laugh out of baiting others and it reminds me of my brother poking and irritating me when I was a kid just to make himself feel powerful.

Its a free world, you don't own the V&V section and yes it is a personal choice. But you fault to see if your being negative and rude about meat eaters they have just as much right to be as nasty as they want to you back.

I agree.
However, two kinds of folks really irritate me.
1. Those who insist that vegetarianism is unhealthy.
2. Those who insist on calling themselves "vegetarian" while they eat animals.
