Hello fellow rockeneers, any of you guys ever been to El Chorro? What's the rock like? Is it polished? Rough? I'm going there for ten days this January with a group of friends. What are the chances I'll be climbing in a tshirt and shorts?

It can get cold even in the Mediterranean region in the wintertime, so you just got a chance that you'll be climbing in a tshirt and shorts in El Chorro. The rock looks far from polished. I've never been there, but it looks like a great place to be.

Check link for photos of El Chorro climbs to get an idea of rock quality. The rock is apparently tafoni, a type of rock that tends to develop "honeycombed structures" on the surface, which is visible in some of the close-up photos. Probably for this reason, climbs under 5.12 dominate.
