How will you be spending Christmas Day? Will you be able to enjoy a nice meal, or will you be sitting amongst meat-eaters, watching them eat dead animals? I live in France, and Christmas meal here mean foie gras and lobsters boiled alive. This year I'm lucky though, I will be able to avoid that kind of meal, and my Christmas will be 100% vegan! How about you?

Hey Michael H, thanks for the invit'! I would love to spend Christmas in England (I often have done, and it's nice not to see foie gras everywhere I go). This year I'm going on holiday some place I hope, so I shouldn't be spending Christmas in France either. Sounds like a lovely meal though :-)

Kate m:
I don't believe in God, but my thoughts ALWAYS go to the animals who died for people's meals.

There will be 17 of us, some veggie some not.

We're having:

beetroot and coconut soup
mozellera slices on salad

Pastry parcels with roasted vegetables topped with Asparagus tips
beef tomatoes stuffed with coucous and mushroom pate
roasted nut stuffing parcelled in spinach
roasted potatoes, parsnip
Juniper berry gravy

poached pears with a cassis drizzle
christmas pud

plenty of home made wine and beer.

I'm sure we can sort a vegan version if you fancy popping 'round.

Although my diet is now vegan its never really bothered me what other people are eating so I've always managed to enjoy my Christmas meal regardless.

sorry for my inflicting my religious views here but I do feel however that it should not be forgotten that Christmas is a religious holiday and when eating a Christmas dinner it should be remembered that we should be thankful for what we have and that a thought should go to the animals that died for the meal whether or not you are the one eating it.

Hmm im not quite sure lol... i havent even asked myself this question yet haha

But i suppose a good old plate of veg aint so bad, i have vegan gravy to top it off, apple sauce aswell, and parsnips :)

Well when i did eat meat i never really enjoyed the meat anyways, just preferred the brocolli - my favorite vegetable :) :)

Anyways have a Great Christmas!!

I have a "Mixed" bag of family. 1 Home(My daughter & her clan) pretty much Veggie & Vegan (Raw even)& 1(My son& his family) that is not. The latter I went out to eat with at T-Day, to a place that had a very nice salad bar. I quess it doesn't bother me that people have chosen a different path, even family members. I would ideally like them to be in the best health they could be & for me that is getting as you say the dead animals out of their diet.
I imagine my Christmas will be a mixed group, but being with my Family and our Celebration together of the Lord's Birth is more important than the foods they eat.
Blesssing to you & yours.

I am in charge of Christmas dinner so my vegetarian sister, her meat-eating husband, my pescetarian mom and my meat-eating boyfriend will all be enjoying a vegan meal. Luckily our guys are quite willing to do the "vegetarian at home" thing. That's why we love 'em.

Well I don't celebrate Christmas but thanks anyway. I will probably just stay home and relax. Eat a salad or two. :]
I will have to be with meat eaters because my mum eats meat. Actually my whole family our meat eater, beside my sister and I.

Have a nice day. :]
