free meals, free shelter, free healthcare and lots of recreation time...
Reminds of the story of the difference between cats and dogs: dogs see you leaving and coming back with bags of food and other great stuff. You give him everything he needs and more. he thinks "Wow he does all these things for me? , he must be a God!!" Cats see you leave and bring home bags of food. You give him everything he needs and more. he thinks , " Wow, he does all these things for me? I must be a God!!

My dog exploits that particular human quirk that associates food with love every single day. Looking up at me with those big, sad eyes is a low risk, high reward method of hunting and, as dogs over the millenia have, he's perfected it. And I wouldn't have it any other way... :)

Yes! At least in our house. We have one grumpy, fat old cat that pretty much rules the roost. God forbid her feed bowl get empty. One 8.5 lb Italian Greyhound that has to be loved 24/7. So yes by the time the day is done I feel pretty exploited!

Maybe not humans as a species, but they do exploit human behavior-especially when it comes to food and shelter.

Pets tend to exploit the hell out of humans' wallets. But look at 'em. You can't stay mad at a face like that.

I don't know how you meant this question and many of those who answered did so tongue in cheek. Unfortunately too many people don't have a sense of humor so no animals do not and are not capable of exploiting people!

exploit tends to carry an association with "conscious misleading for one's own gain." I find it hard to believe that other animals are capable of reasoning to the point of doing this to human beings.
