I get this every year, and I recently moved to a new apartment and had to sleep on the floor a few nights until my new bed arrived.. I developed a cold, and this was a week ago or so.

Yesterday I started coughing and now I get this yellowish stuff coming up.. gross I know.. and my breathing seems to be a little restricted. I went to the pharmacy to get something for over-the-counter and so this inhaler helps for all of 2 hours.

The thing is I don't want to miss work because I teach music and we have 7 days left before our concert and they're not ready... is this something that can wait until monday or what do you think?

It does sound like you have bronchitis. It's better to go to the doctor to get an inhaler. The over the counter kind make me nervous and jittery. Albuterol (the one you get from your doctor) does a much better job without the side effects.

Anyway you should go to the doctor, he can make sure you don't have pneumonia. I think you should make time for a trip to the doctor, especially if you're having trouble breathing.

►Don't wait until Monday. You can't keep using that inhaler every 2 hours.

It sounds like you have viral bronchitis. The best thing for this is a prescription albuterol inhaler. You would have to go to a doctor and get a prescription. There is really nothing much you can do. The average length of symptoms is 2-3 weeks.

Probably can wait most of this stuff is viral...increase water 8 glasses a day -it thins secretions..forget the OTC inhaler can make things worse.Get mucinex. Take hot shower steam..get the stuff up,Take delsym cough syrup at night only,if you are coughing ..so you can get a good nights sleep..takes about 5-7 days, stay away from Nyquil..it can dry your secretions up too much making it like glue..if fever, getting worse go see a provider

Do you have frequest bouts of coughing in which it feels like someone is sticking a knife between your ribs??? if so, you have bronchitis.
You can wait until Monday if you don't mind being in agony every time you cough.Yellow suff??? You have an infection.

Chronic bronchitis is a sign of lung cancer. It can turn into pneumonia. I would go to the doctor and get a chest x-ray.
