Why? Well anyways, It has 4 sections, right ventricle, left ventricle, Right Atrium, Left Atrium. I studied this in school. The heart pumps by using electric charge. The heart is divided in half by a substance called septum...........The heartbeat is measured by using an EKG (Electrocardiogram) It appears on a moniter, and is often used in surgery. The heart is the largest muscle in the body.

I am no doctor but my husband has had his fair share of problems with his heart, (cardiomyopathy and transplant) so i understand some things. I do not pretend to be a doctor either but if he has symptoms of anything wrong i just call his transplant team and let them do the rest. His team are excellent too, they explain things to us and when my grandad was in CCU, the doctors were stood talking in medical terms about his condition and i asked a question about something and they looked rather uncomfortable that i had understood some of what had been said. I explained about my husband and from then on, they spoke outside about his future progress.
I would love to work in cardiology as i am very intrested to do with anything regarding the heart, and kidneys. The nurses on his ward used to explain what did this mean and why etc, and some times during the night shift the student nurse and the shadow nurse used to do the assignments and i would sit and they would be telling us both! A very high doctor in the unit even commented about my intrest in cardiology and said i should look in to doing my degree and he would be more than happy to see me on his ward as a student. I was so hapy when he said that!
