It would largely be a lifestyle choice as most alcohols are veg-friendly. Some beers are fined with isinglass, from the swim bladder of a fish. Many wines are clarified with animal products. Most spirits are made without animal byproducts (though the cream ones would obviously be unsuitable for vegans.) The good thing is that there are several websites with lists of vegan-friendly beers, wine and spirits. Most major American brewers are vegan, as are all German beers.

I'm vegetarian and I don't drink alcohol.
In my case, it's not particularly connected, although I did give up both meat and alcohol for spiritual reasons. I always loved animals and hated the idea of killing them, but I stopped drinking largely because I tended to drink too much and I didn't like the way it made me act.
I have heard some people say that animal products are used in the processing of certain alcoholic beverages, but I don't really know anything about that.

I am a vegan, and I do drink occasionally. There is a connection between the two, because many alcoholic beverages (including most beers and wine) do employ animal products in their production. the most common is the use of isinglass, which comes from the swim bladders of fish, to clarify alcohol after fermentation. Another is the use of bone char in processing. As long as we drink vegan-friendly beverages, there's nothing stopping vegans from enjoying alcohol.

Raw vegans typically don't drink. If you stay on a totally pure uncooked diet for a long time and then drink, your body gets a bad reaction, way worse than a vegetarian or vegan drinking alcohol (which would be a "normal" reaction).

I certainly drink, but this is a personal choice.
You'd be surprised which alcoholic beverages contain animals products. Guinness for example.
I found this website a couple of weeks ago with lists of wines, beers and spirits that are suitable for vegans and vegetarians. It might be useful for you too. (See below.)

I don't think the two choices are connected, and it would be a personal choice for the individual. Unless it is a commitment to a healthy lifestyle that is leading the person to choose being a vegetarian and to refrain from alcohol. That may be a possible connection.

It depends on how strict they are (vegans obviously being stricter) I, myself am a vegetarian and I still drink alcohol. So I would say it's a personal choice

I'm not sure about vegetarians but vegans would abstain from an alcoholic drink that contains dairy... like a white Russian or Baileys Irish Cream or something.
I hope this helps.
cheers!

I don't think animals are used in the production of animals. I'm vegetarian and I don't drink, but that's because I'm on medication that doesn't mix with alcohol; until this I used to drink.

Physically and ethically, there is no relation.
But generally and eventually, a philosophy-vegetarian will quit smocking, lessen or stop alcohol and less likely to cause harm to other beings.
Important Note : Exception for those reprimanded by doctors from eating meat.
