I have been making the traditional hummus with garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon and garlic (with salt, cummin, black pepper, red chile pepper to taste) and garnished with olive oil, paprika and parsley. I would like some ideas for additional ingredients to add.
Important Note: They must be vegan ingredients. Also, if you are one of usual hatemonger trolls who hang out in this section, please do not reply. I only wish to hear from real people with real advice. Unlike you guys, I actually use Yahoo! Answers to learn things and better myself.

Spawnee, people like you sicken me. You think you can justify the murder of innocent animal beings by saying you only eat them a few times a week. What if someone ate your kids a few times a week?

Katie - First, do not use God's name in vain. Secondly, threatening to poison someone is against the law and I am forwarding a copy of your threat to an internet watchdog group. This is very very serious and I suggest you get some good legal representation because you are going to need it.

It is sad that I have to take time out of my busy day to report several of you, but I have.

I love making hummus with chickpeas, lemon, garlic, olive oil a little salt and black pepper, but instead of tahini, I love add pesto in the same quantities that I would use tahini.
I am an omnivore, but I love meat just as much as I love veg. But I believe in compassionate farming methods (see link below). Generally I only eat meat once or twice a week (usually wild meat, or small local farmers who are free range and organic)
EDIT: Ashley, so it is okay to rip into me when I express my views, which were not having ago at Vegan's or Vegetarians. That is a little bit of a double standard you have set yourself there.
Kids are a baby goat, love it curried, Jamacian style. Strange that you should suggest that, you being vegan and all that.
If you "use yahoo! answers to learn things and better myself" why not use it to educate me about what I am doing so wrong in your eyes, instead of having a hissy fit on me?
What I was saying is that I only eat meat a couple of times a week as I can only afford non-factory farmed/cheap imported meat by reducing the amount I consume. I will not deny how "God" made me (lets face it you are apparently a Christian, yet you spout such hatred towards omnivores). Was Jesus wrong to feed 5000 people fish. Why don't you string him up after committing such an immoral act?
I come here to try and help those who need an answer, but with your hatred, it puts me off more and more. That said, I am not going to bow down to a whinning little Yank in London.
If you care to apologise, hopefully we can agree to disagree?
VIM108, I am generally a layed back kinda guy, but there is no room for rudeness in my book. Ashley obviously needs to see that it shouldn't be tolerated!
EDIT (again) "It is sad that I have to take time out of my busy day to report several of you, but I have.
I acually use Yahoo! Answers to learn, but it appears as though most of you morons just come on here to cut people down and make negative remarks." Gosh, you are so tolerant and mature. I wish I could be more like you

Wait a second...aren't you one of the hatemonger trolls?
Well, in the interest of people who might actually be interested, I'm getting ready to make hummus today and I'm going to be adding sun-dried tomato and basil to try and make it takste like Trader's Joe's delicious version.
Hummus seems like pretty much a base to me. You can add whatever you want to it to get the flavor you want. Spicy hummus is always good. You just have to add some dried pepper or fresh pepper or hot sauce or whatever floats your spicy boat.
I was never a big hummus fan, but it's such a good source of protein and fiber and fills me up so nicely I've been eating more of it lately. There's got to be a million recipes online, too.

As your in the mood for reporting people it would be only fair to report you for breaking yahoo's TOS by insulting other answerers.

Saw a documentary covering the preparation for a wedding (think it was Turkish, but don't quote me on that.) and they had a whole array as part of some traditional feast. One had grated Beetroot mixed in whilst another had grated carrot. Can't recall the whole lot, but they looked spectacular all sitting together in a splash of colour.

I put orange juice once because I didn't have lemon juice, I wouldn't recommend it.
Lime instead of lemon might be pretty good, though.
Depending on what you like; cloves, cardamom, cinnamon or thyme might be nice. Black salt or hing if you can find them (try a store that sells Indian food).

Try adding different herbs.
Also you can have things like:
coriander and lemon;
basil and black olive;
roasted pepper and celery salt;
fennel, parsley and lemon;
red onion and roast tomato.
I love hummus and love mixing different flavours.
Enjoy!

Arsenic, Rat poison, cyanide, anthrax. If you cant manage them try crunching up a few sleeping pills and adding them to the mix lace with brandy to finish.
If you juice everything tho, what will you dip into your new super tasty hummus

mmm. I make hummus also, but I use Chickpeas. I wonder if garbanzo beans are the same thing, with a different name?
I often throw in a good handful of Basil, and some Pine nuts, before blending to my preferred texture. It's hummus X pesto...two of my fave things, all in one dip!

A few suggestions:
Use lime juice instead of lemon.
Sun-dried tomatoes.
Coriander.
Cumin.
Cayenne pepper.
Ramsons instead of garlic. I haven't tried that and they're not in season, but i'm sure it'd be fantastic.
Carrots.
I'm hungry now!
