Doc says it s allergic the anti allergic does not have an effect
Note that otherwise in the daytime ie till he is fast asleep till midnight or so he does not have this problem

My daughter is the same. The doctors say that you shouldn't give them Demazin these days (it doesn't really work) and they now suggest you give them a dose of Painstop as this has codeine in it which helps the cough and also helps them sleep. You can try give him a puffer. Or maybe suggest to the doctor "Singulair" which is a chewable tablet. It is really hard isn't it. I actually feel sick when my daugher coughs all night long and it is very draining!! Also try a steamer as well, or vicks on feet with socks on.

do you know what kind of allergie it is if it is dust then remove his carpet put laminate floors down use anti alergic pollows/covers keep as little cuddly toys in his room and dust it every day hopefully this should help

Not the cold mist humidifier! There is a difference.....Get them at Walmart of dollar store. Put cold water in, it heats and produces steam into the air. making it easy to breath and breaks up phlegm as they sleep. Put some Vick's salve on the dispenser and on his chest.!! Old fashioned treatment we have used it since childhood ouselves...

try to elevate his bed and watch if he is drinking milk or pop before bed.if this is going on for a while and does not get better get a another doc's opinion
