My friend is having a dinner party with an 80's theme and she wants to serve food and drinks indicative of that decade. Any ideas?

Go to http://allrecipes.com and search lava lamps.
It's a drink made with jello and champagne and it looks like a lava lamp. Very cool and good!

I'm having an 80's party this weekend! I just do regular foods. but you could have wine coolers (Bartels and James of course!) other than candy and cereal of the 80's I have no idea what 80's food would be?

Pasta w/ Pesto was everywhere; so were Caesar Salads w/ Grilled Chicken, and Swedish meatballs in a chafing dish

I'd also suggest checking the Pillsbury Bake-Off website. They have past winners from various years, so you can look up 80's

in the 80's anything stackable
when you hosted a party you asked people to bring toppings for lets say tacos or enchiladas or nachos etc...
you as the host would let your guests know that you would be providing the foundation of these stacks like tortillas and meat cheese sauce for enchiladas then it was up to them what else would be put on them sometimes guests would bring traditional like... lettuce tomatoes onions olives...
sometimes sourcream quacamole jalapenos etc...
once in while your would get people would bring coconut, dill pickles ....crazy stuff like that but they had been in another state or country where enchiladas were eaten like that.....and it gives you a chance you learn how others eat and it is also really fun.....
