Overweight means that there is an amount of fat on the body that is superior than what it should be...
This extra fat goes and sticks on the arteries and starts to block them....
This leads to a circulatory problems and at one point, when it gets to hard for the blood to pass through the arteries and when the heart itself no longer has enough strenght to make the blood circulate in those blocked arteries, people may have heart attacks!

If you're overweight, then you're lifestyle isn't healthy. You're not getting proper exercise & not eating healthy. A sedintary life style makes your body sluggish & when you need to get up & do things, your heart is out of shape along with the rest of your body. Additionally, people who are overweight DONT eat properly, otherwise they wouldn't be overweight. They are therefore eating junkfood & food that clogs the arteries & raises cholesterol which can lead to heart disease.

WebMD states: Heart disease, also known as cardiovascular disease, includes a number of conditions affecting the heart: congestive heart failure, congenital heart disease, and heart attack, among others.

Since most over-weight people don't eat right or exercise....they have a higher risk of any of the above conditions.

Durr! Excuse me: If your to fat your heart has to work harder to move the blood through out your body, this alone will put more strain on the heart muscle. Not to mention the fatty deposit in the blood stream that go along with being to fat to excess, which can brake loose and cause strokes, heart attacks, blood clots, and do unrepairable damage to the blood system and body.

Disease goblins love living in warm, soft places. They seek out fat people for this very reason. They set up shop in the heart because they love hip hop and like the thumping. After a while, they start partying, throw trash all over the place, and when they breakdance the heart just blows out.

Getting to the state of overweight usually means eating too much food and too much not so healthy food. If you ate too many vegetables, or too much fruit or too much fish it is unlikely that you would be overweight but if you were it is probably because you used heavy laden condiments or sugars along with. Its the trans fats in fast foods, the saturated fats in ice cream, the sugar and fats in donuts, the sugar, sugar, sugar in candy, and in far too many of our processed foods which all translates storage of calories not burned. These calories are stored in the form of fat and the more liquid forms of fat - cholesterol - float around in your blood stream and parts of the fat particles build up in your veins and this can lead to blocked arteries not only in your large veins but in the veins that go through and feed your heart. Really fat people have fat padding all their organs including the heart, so there is your heart with clogged veins trying to beat while lugging along this big pad of fat and trying to push extra blood through extra veins to feed the stored calories which is layered all over your body. Just because you feel okay doesn't mean stuff isn't happening. Lots of people have really amazingly strong bodies and can carry excess weight around for decades with little or no affect... but not everyone, and the bone yards are full of those who couldn't carry it off.

Have you ever seen a raw chicken breast? You know, the kind you get at the grocery store. Have you seen the little gross slime chunks of fat on it. Excess body fat accumulates on the heart just like that. Not to mention your heart has to work harder to help you carry all that weight around.

Your heart has to work harder to pump blood to all of your body. Being overweight makes your heart work harder all day long.

Fatty tissue around the heart isn't good. Also the odds of high cholesterol are greater.
