For instance the first Gospel the Gospel of Mark is reported to have been written 70 years after Jesus walked this earth. The five books attributed to Moses were actually not written by moses and you can see clue of this in the book itself (this has been proven by scholars). Many many books were written centuries after the death of the prophets in the book and then re-written by monarchs and so on...

CINDY S:

Actually the new testament was written many many years after Jesus' "death" and the first one was mark, then Mathew copied mark and added scenes (he copied the same exact text and changed it for his community Jewish primarily). then Luke copied mark and added scenes also (he wrote for a roman audience so he changed the gospel this way). Then John re-wrote the gospel to speak more of the divinity of Jesus because he felt the other people did not concentrate on that. the gospels dates go for 60's 70's 90's and even 100's A.D. and none of the people who wrote the Gospel were actually eye witnesses, they had second hand info and hear say!You can look into this issue yourself :) is not divine inspiration, but rather people having copies of what Mark wrote and then the others having copies of what the others wrote and changing it a bit :)

Mark: c. 68–73, Matthew: c. 70–100 , Luke: c. 80–100, John: c. 90–110 again none of the writers were eye witnesses.

Hey! You're rocking the boat.

So many Christians believe the bible was written by Jesus' disciples. Why rob them of their delusions?

* Christianity was modeled after much older Egyptian and Persian religions; copying the bulk of Jesus' story from Horus and Mithas.

* In 326 A.D., after Emperor Constantine's Council of Nicea, which incorporated pagan ideas and themes into Christianity, the Roman Catholic Church was set up as a political maneuver and declared the state religion of the Roman Empire.

* The authors of the New Testament gospels came from the Roman Empire, used pseudonyms and wrote in Greek -- which the disciples couldn't read, write or speak.

* Christianity took root and spread by incorporating pagan themes, holidays and rituals.

All these facts point to Christianity being just another copy-cat religion . . . one that benefited greatly by being declared the state religion of the Roman Empire (by Emperor Constantine).

The truth -- clearly revealed by history -- is available to anybody with access to the Internet. In today's world, there's no excuse for allowing yourself to remain ignorant of the lie of religion . . . unless, of course, you WANT to be delusional.

Sources, please?

Most Biblical scholars date Mark to have been the EARLIEST gospel, written around 50-60 A.D., if not earlier. They believe that Matthew and Luke both quote Mark.

Also, the Torah is attributed mostly to Moses, because he's such a central character in it. The part about his death may have been written by Joshua.

Most of the books of the Bible were NOT written "centuries" after the events, but decades, at the most. This actually lends credence to their authenticity, because most historical accounts were not written until decades (if not centuries, as in the case of the history of Alexander) after the events.

The Bible was never "re-written" by anyone. It was translated. There is a difference. Do you KNOW how many manuscripts there are of the Bible? More than 24,000! These fragments have been pored over by scholars, who have compared them. They're in all different languages, and they have been thoroughly looked over and translated. SOMEHOW all these translations mostly agree, the difference being only in the order of words, which don't change the meaning of the passage.

There is more backing up the Bible than ANY other work of antiquity. Ever read anything by Aristotle? There are only SEVEN of his works still existing, and it's not even the originals. They date to about thirteen hundred years after the originals! So how do YOU know that they were translated correctly? How do YOU know that something important wasn't left out?

Funny, people take other books of antiquity (Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, Plato's Tetralogies...) on faith, but the Bible? Out of the question! It HAS to have been changed, right? But try to say the same thing about the Iliad, with its 743 copies, and a five hundred year gap between the originals and the oldest available. You'd be laughed at!

Of all four of the canonical Gospels, the one that is thought to have been written the latest was John, which may have been written as late as around 95 A.D. But some scholars are reconsidering that date, because John writes about things as still existing at the date of the writing, which were destroyed during the sack of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.

As far as the writing of the Bible goes (who wrote the books, and when), it's something that's still being debated among scholars. They have proven nothing.

Why don't you read the Bible yourself? The more I read of it, the more I'm amazed by the amount of detail in it. It is obvious that either the events were carefully preserved for many decades, or they were written fairly soon after the fact.

Don't just take the word of scholars. Decide for yourself. You CAN think for yourself, right?

Edit: Luke was NOT written between 80-100! It was written prior to 64 A.D., which is when Paul was killed. Acts ends with Paul on trial, it does not go into his death. Also, enough of Luke and Matthew are different, that it's obvious they did NOT just copy from each other! Have you ever even READ the Bible? Have you ever read about the people who play a PART in the Bible? Dude, think for YOURSELF! Don't let religioustolerance.org do your thinking for you!

Your dates are VERY erroneous...

The "Fourth Gospel" a.k.a John was one of the last books written. We have a manuscript fragment from it that is dated less than 100 years after Jesus' death.

The composition of the New Testament took place between about 45 and 100 A.D., or approximately 15 to 70 years after the death of Christ.

There is also strong external evidence that Matthew was the first and was written BY MATTHEW HIMSELF. An early second century writer named Papias (110-140) tells us that Matthew had taken copious notes in Aramaic of Jesus' teachings DURING HIS MINISTRY which he later translated into Greek. These formed the basis of the Gospel which bears his name. The Gospels were thought in the second century to have been WRITTEN in the order in which they are compiled and that was the basis for their current order. The 93% inclusion of the Markan text in Matthew does not FORCE any particular order of composition. As the NIV Study Bible notes put it, "there is insufficient evidence to be dogmatic about either view."

WOAH, did you flunk second grade math? You say "Mark: c. 68–73," yet you claim this is 70 years after Jesus' death...

THAT IS ABOUT 38 - 43 YEARS AFTER JESUS' DEATH, NOT 70!

JESUS DIED BETWEEN 27 AND 33 A.D... Some might claim 35, but that would be the latest feasible date. 27 really isn't feasible, but 30 +/-3 is probably over 95% likely as the range.

Timeline:

Birth: 6-4 B.C. (Because the Romans made a mistake on the date of Herod the Great's death)

Start of ministry around age 30: 25-27 A.D., lasting about 3 years (No year zero, they didn't know about it.)

Crucifixion: 28-30... possibly 1 or 2 years later if the ministry lasted longer than the Gospels seem to indicate.

Pastor Billy says: nope. This might be an issue for later Protesters who decided to create the superficial doctrine of "sola scriptura" but not for those of us who belong to first Christianity or for that matter the first peoples of the book, the Jews.

Both ancient Christianity and ancient Judaism have a oral tradition and a liturgical worship which is missing in modern-day denominations stemming from the 16th century reformation.
Further more the teaching of bible alone or "sola scriptura" is the great contradiction they cling to as the bible required men to write it, priests and scribes to copy it, printers to print it, publishers to edit it and pastors and elders to pontificate upon it.

What evidence do you provide that the first five books of Moses were not written by Moses? The Torah itself is the record of Moses's relationship with God, which means there is plenty of evidence to the contrary. Since I believe what the Torah says is true, I believe Moses did in fact write it according to the evidence provived within its text: "And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them." (Exd 24:12)

It does not bother me, I just find it foolish to think that the bible is 100% factual.

As you have stated that the Gospel of Mark was written 70 years after Jesus so there is a very good chance that the information is not accurate and yet people claim that it is.

For example pretend that it is 11/14/2077 and your friend asks you to recall what type of clothing he wore on 11/14/2007, would you be able to recall exactly the type of clothing?

IT IS A SHAME THAT SO FEW PEOPLE STUDY THE BIBLE CORRECTLY

6073 years ago, Adam in Eden. This is not age of the earth.
4417 years ago, the flood.
3990 years ago, the Promised Land covenant to Abraham. Gen.12:4;
3705 years ago, Joseph died, ended book of Genesis. Gen.50:26;
3640 years ago, Job died, ended book of Job.
3560 years ago, Moses at the Exodus. Exo.7:7;
3004 years ago, Solomon died. 1Ki.11:42;
2613 years ago, Promised Land desolated by Babylon. 2Ki.25:8;
2007 years ago, Christ Jesus was in Rome world Empire #6. Matt.2:11;
0396 years ago, the 1611 C. E. bible published for the world, now many.

I AM AWARE OF THE TIME INVOLVED IN THE BIBLE BOOKS

3705 years ago Genesis to 3640 Job [ is 65 years ], 3560 is 145 years to Exodus plus 40 years [ 185 years to Josh.24:32 bones of Joseph ], and Moses dies, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy [ finished by Joshua ].
3520 years ago, year 2553. Seven [ 7 ] bible books.

Genesis to Joseph born year 2258, sold year 2275, in prison 13 years, made governor in Egypt year 2288 [ same year Isaac dies back in Canaan ], Year 2298 at Gen.47:9,11; Jacob age 130, placed in Rameses Egypt, 215 years after Abraham given the Promised Land covenant, Gen.46:27; Jacob has 70 family members in Egypt. Gen.47:28; Jacob dies age 147, year 2315. His 11th son Joseph is age 57, he has 53 years as Governor, dies year 2368.

Year 2298, Jacob in Rameses Egypt + 215 years to Moses at Exodus.

This is one method of many to examine every year in the bible.

A couple of issues I have with what you are saying.

You are reporting facts that are not true at all and you are making them sound like you know for sure.......

......this has been proven by scholars.....?
wow
That convinces me........

The books you claim are rewritten have been translated. They are not translated by one man only but by many men in order to keep the original meaning in tact.

The books were written by man originally, but by men inspired ny God to write these accounts of history for us

Are you aware that there is a price to be paid for false witnessing, false teachings and false testimony?
