Like others have said, it's the Human Papilloma Virus. The virus can cause Genital Warts.
Human papilloma virus is the name of a group of viruses that includes more than 100 different strains or types. More than 30 of these viruses are sexually transmitted, and they can infect the genital area of men and women including the skin of the penis, vulva, or anus, and the linings of the vagina, cervix, or rectum. Most people who become infected with HPV will not have any symptoms and will clear the infection on their own
About 90% of women who have Cervical Cancer, also have HPV. They have recently put out a vaccine to eradicate the virus. Here in Austalia they have just started administereing it to girls as they reach puberty.

HPV, also known as genital warts, is chronic infection which can become fatal for women. Doctors advise women with HPV to take PAP tests a little more regularly (e.g. - 6 months rather than 1 year)..
In order to find out whether you have HPV or not, you can take a DNA test (which is quite dear at some places I hear). If you do NOT have HPV, and are under a certain age (under 26 I believe), then you should consider being vaccinated for HPV (which semi-protects you from most forms of the virus)
Hope this helps. I do suggest you speak to a doctor about it though if you are worried, they can help guide you in the right direction.

Human Papilloma virus is a sexually transmitted disease and its symptoms are warts that appear on/around the genital area. This is a really nasty virus because the warts can only be removed by burning them with a laser and this virus can cause cancer. However, a good news is that THERE IS a vaccine that can help women avoid contracting this virus. You can ask your doctor if a vaccine is the right choice for you (In fact, I am pretty sure that NOT ALL women can have this done.)
