I just figured if we leave then we can have the rest of the world, but I think America is too beautiful and Americans made it so it will stand and those ideas of kicking out the bad guy and taking care of their countries instead of running off are right on target. Possible you hae a problem withthe Church of Europe. Did you know that during the 30 Years War two thirds of all people in Germany and Austria were killed. Your folks may have gone to Canada via France if so then you know all about the way the Prot Christians were killed in France.

We have brought in over 30 million legal immigrats in the last 16 years or 10% of the population and we do not need to overload the country.. The other 40-60 million that are here illegally need not be here. Crime, drugs and overoading the country is not my idea of the best situation for Americans. Granted only 27% of illegals fill our Federal prisons and another 300,000 are in state jails, but does America need that. In closing the country needs to clean up as the crime is hitting all, but mainly the areas where Americans are that the criminals can blend in. Also you state they if not for Enland controlling the oceans America would have been forcing countries to buy opium. Once again you history proves you wrong. Check your history but America went to Japan and basically forced them to sign a trade agreement with us and why didn't we force them to buy opium? i agree with sparkles, there would be no issue if immigrants came over here legally. my grandmother came over here in the 50's and she got a green card and then she taught herself how to speak english(which she does very well) she only has a minor accent, and then she got her citizenship.. its all about being here legally and taking the time to do it.. it also helps if people would learn to speak english. i dont go over to my grandmothers country and speak english, i try to speak their language, so even if i get words wrong they know im trying.

Sorry, no, I really do'nt want to move to Botswana or Uwranda or the Dominican Republic. America might have its own vested interest at heart primarily, but we do offer many outreach programs to other nations. If 3rd would countries would kick their selfish dictators to the curb and embrace us, I"m sure something could be done faster and better than resisting us.
I've seen the sudo friendly kinda coutnries. Seems they have no problem importing our Kentucky Fried Chicken, or Pepsi, Coke, Marriot Hotels....and we don't build as much as the Brits seem to in the Arabian countries. But when it comes to culture, we are the great white satan. And staying in their own country isn't good enough, the radicals have to make some world wide statement against the USA.... all because we exist...Not that we have actually done evil against them.
At best it would just be a land swap, but they get the already built industrial nation....assuming they have enough intelligent people to run the manufacterer's and industries.
I know we started off as a group of pioneers and ambitious people, but trading lands because other worlds are too under-developed, uneducated or too lazy to do so for themselves ? sounds too radical to me.

Some went to make money, others went to "fix it" with the benefit of European-style government and religion and ways of doing things. For the most part, the colonized places did not derive as much benefit from the process as we might have hoped.

You want to do the same thing all over again. You want to show them how it's done, by us superior white, English-speaking Christians. Yes sir. Nobody knows how to run a place the way we do. Why, we could send a bunch of Americans, down to (for example) Haiti, and have the place running like a home-bound clipper in no time.

Clipper? Sorry, bad example. The clippers were ships that took opium from India to China to trade for tea to take back to Britain. The only reason Americans couldn't do it was because the Royal Navy enforced British trade laws and at that time you didn't have the push to stop them. So, you ran slaves instead.

Maybe some should read this link. Immigrants did not just walk onto American soil without registering first to be a citizen. The debate is not of immigrants coming here, it is about them coming here legally.

Why should we clean up their slums so they can just go mess it up again? People have much more pride in their homes if they take responsibility for them.

Look at all the low-income housing that has been built. They started out nice and lots of people just trash the place!

they'd just say they wanted it back and it was theirs first. by then the U.S. would a third world country. elementary school doesn't have classes in economics, world leadership, business management, and very little history or geography too. it's not a pretty picture.
