Unless the ones you have are just completely worn out and you need new shoes to run between now and then, do not buy new shoes.
One of the first things to happen in Basic Training: your Drill Sergeants will have everyone show them their running shoes. They know what kind of shoes are best for the kind of training they will be dooing for you and a lot of people will be told they need different shoes.
If you buy new now, they may tell you to be another new pair after you arrive.
Everyone will get an advance on their pay and will make a trip to teh PX to gat anything that they didn't bring with them that they will need. (In 1994 it was $300.00.)

with the aid of utilising eating heathy with approximately 2000 to 3000 caleries an afternoon. Then start up your actual training now for uncomplicated another day, you should get your 2 mile run under 14 minutes, do over 60 push united statesin 2 minutes, and over eighty sit down united statesin 2 minutes. only near to try this might positioned the load and muscle groups which you will want. on the unusual days get a back %. and positioned approximately 30 pounds into it and stroll a minimum of three to 5 miles. good success and thank you for desirous to serve.

Asics Gels, by a mile. After you get your 'wind', I would see if I could locate some jungle boots to run in as well; with thick wool, padded soles (on the sock). Worked fine for me as we mostly ran in boots, but as much as Rangers run in 22 years, I did tire of buying running shoes every other month. Ideally, you want two good pairs to rotate. New Balance has come light years, they used to be THE worst. Reebocks were light and comfortable but the durability sucked. Some Nikes are pretty good, but big ups to asics!

DON'T BUT NEW SHOES!!! Your drill sgt's will tell you which ones to get depending on your foot type. Don't waste money take just a FEW necessary items to basic. Trust me you'll be able to buy everything that you need when you're there. You'll get a card with money in it for basic and a really long list of the items that you're allowed to buy. If you take extra junk the drill sgt's will lock it up till your done.

I am confused by PT in other than battle gear. Back in Dino Days we trained in uniform with a 3lb steel pot. Why get used to humping nothing??
We would get breaks. While DTing we would stop and take off the pots and web gear. We would then DT 1 mile on a track with our 16 overhead. Put it all back on and head to the barracks. That's why you get 2 pair of boots. One to wear one to be under your bunk drying.

DONT BUY NEW SHOES NOW! when you get to basic they will check your arch in your foot and tell you what kind of running shoe is best for your type. Then they will give you a advance of pay so you can buy the special shoes. Have fun!

Don't do it. The military is a callous machine that will spit you out after it has used you. Have you ever wondered why so few rich people and politicians join but lots of poor people do. So they can order you to go to Iraq to kill other poor people while they sit in Washington safe and sound. Challenge your orders mate!

You wont be able to wear ANY civilian clothing while in basic, I don't remember what we did with our "civies" but, you can't wear them.
The military is all about uniform, that doesn't mean the clothes that you wear, it means everyone wears the same clothes, if the Post Commander rolls up his sleeves the entire battalion rolls up there sleeves.
Save your money you wont need it in basic, we alway ran in combat boots!
Do they serve lattes in the mess hall too?
