Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
It was created before there were men and women, before there were jews and gentiles.
Exo 16:22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
Exo 16:23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake today, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
established here again, notice there are no jews here either in Ex. 16.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
no jews here , notice also the stranger in their gates keep the sabbath, strangers here are non-israelite peoples. I could continue on through the whole bible but the point is it is binding on all mankind.

Just home from a very hard days work ,so I am not going to answer this question in to much detail ,except to say.
Read Ephesians 2:15 & Colossians 2:16 & Galatians 4 :9 to 11 .Do not these scriptures make it quite clear Christians are not bound by the old laws ? In fact would it be right to follow the sabbath bearing these scriptures in mind ?
Thats all I can think of of the top of my head ,I may come back and answer your question more fully if I feel better later.

I'm Jewish, and we believe that there are only seven laws of the 613 explicitly stated in the Torah that are binding upon all righteous persons. These "Noahide" commandments, are inferred from Genesis Ch. 9, and are as follows: 1) to establish courts of justice; 2) not to commit blasphemy; 3) not to commit idolatry; 4) not to commit incest and adultery; 5) not to commit [bloodshed] murder; 6) not to commit robbery; and 7) not to eat flesh cut from a living animal. These commandments are fairly simple and straightforward, and most of them are recognized by most of the world as sound moral principles. We believe that ANY non-Jew who follows these laws has a place in the world to come.
The sabbath, on the other hand, was established by God by his own example:
"For six days you may perform melachah ("work"), but the seventh day is a complete Sabbath, holy to the Lord ... it is an eternal sign that in six days, the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed." Exodus 31:15-17
We believe that observance of the Sabbath is incumbent upon Jews, and Jews only, as part of the agreement between God and Abraham, and thence all who are bound by that covenant, although of course it is certainly not prohibited to others.
Edit: Lone Ranger, if you don't want to believe/follow the Noachide laws, then that's your choice. It doesn't matter to me; I'm already Jewish, and I KNOW what the Torah teaches.

No, it is not binding on all humanity. The Sabbath is there for people to take advantage of if they wish to treat it as special religious day. As it says in Mark 2:27; ' ... Jesus said to them, “ The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.'

Are Christians under obligation to keep a weekly sabbath day?
Ex. 31:16, 17: “The sons of Israel must keep the sabbath, so as to carry out the sabbath during their generations. It is a covenant to time indefinite [“a perpetual covenant,” RS]. Between me and the sons of Israel it is a sign to time indefinite.” (Notice that sabbath observance was a sign between Jehovah and Israel; this would not be the case if everyone else were also obligated to keep the Sabbath

Are you truly seeking answers to repent? Or just to satisfy your curiosity?
The Sabbath was instituted at Creation (not for the Jew only), and thus is binding upon ALL mankind, man, woman, Christians, non-Christians, pagans, heathens, Muslims, Hindus.....
In Ex20, the Sabbath was given in relation to Creation, and hence the Jews kept the Sabbath of Creation, 6pm Fri to 6pm Sat.
In Deu 5, if one is spiritually sharp and discerning; the Sabbath is given in relation to Redemption; hence as the codified Moral Law is still binding today .....ALL mankind are still bound to keep the Sabbath of Redemption (ie 6pm Sat to 6pm Sunday).

That Commandment is part of the Covenant between God and Israel. Jews are obligated to keep the Sabbath holy, and we do that in many different ways.
The Egyptians were never part of the Covenant and are not obligated to keep it holy.
The Assyrians are not part of the Covenant and are not obligated to keep it holy.
Ditto for all the other nations of the world. They are not, and never have been, obligated to keep the Sabbath holy.

Created for ADAM, i.e. man.
Created BEFORE THE WORLD WAS.
Made, or reestablished, in Genesis on the seventh day. Very likely on the 22nd of the month.
Binding on all mankind. BUT everything most THINK is mankind is not.
Plenty of Children of the Devil out there who NEVER were intended to HEAR, and as a matter of fact, THEY CANNON HEAR.
That is why only a few keep the TRUE Sabbath which falls on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th days of EVERY month. www.lunarsabbath.org

God declares that the sabbath command was to be a sign between Israel and God. Wedding rings are a sign between two married people.
If all mankind were supposed to keep the sabbath, then it could not possibly be this sign between God and Israel. It would then be a sign between God and all mankind.
