They are a good source of protein. There are a few restaurants that serve them.

I have never eaten any but I am told they taste a lot like dirt even after being washed, cleaned out and fried.

I don't know man; I just read about the Diet of Worms on Wikipedia but it doesn't say a thing about protein:

WORMS AREN'T JUST GOOD FOR PROTEIN BUT FOR MANY OTHER REASONS IN THE HUMAN BODY.

You have to be much more specific as to what type of worms.
Yes, in a general way. Grubs are a better source, though.
