What do you think the artist is saying here? What message, if any, is he trying to convey? And how do you imagine the rest of the painting will look?

This is just for fun, people.

And, yes, I’m painting this dumb thing.

mmmoatmm, the young Polynesian woman, the Tiki and the thophy are all images that came out of my head. The woman wearing the diamonds is based on an expression I remember from a film from the 70s. I added the jewerly.

And I don't do, and won't do, collages. I paint original paintings on canvas.

As a painter, the quality of the paint will hopefully not be sacrificed for illustration. The message screams magazine. If you have been working from magazine images, then maybe you should be more straightforward and purposeful about it. Collage, maybe.

I imagine the rest of the panel would, on a positive note, adequately fill the space, considering you are using rectangles to divide the space.

As a female, I am sensitive to the fetish of female body parts. If you are using the female body to convey beauty, you need to convince the onlooker why you think it is beautiful.

Again the overall message delves into the media, and the perfect image that women try to acheive. I reccomend collage, and if you are not aware of Romare Bearden, you should check him out, with the way he handles the face--distortions, etc.

It looks like a woman who studied her body so much, she grew to dislike it more and more with every second that passed. So she changed everything, (hair, etc) to try and make herself "perfect," like she's trying to win an award (the trophy) by simply fitting into what the media/public says is attractive. Yet she still finds herself unhappy, only this time it's b/c she's lost touch w/ her true self. The next image may be of her "succeeding" at her new life and being social (where she thought she wanted to be) but she continues to isolate herself b/c she finally realizes that this isn't what was going to make her happy. She realizes that no one else can tell her how to change herself to make her happy; she has to be the one to make the decisions. The last one can be of her in her original skin and setting only looking content and happy... idk, it's just what it reminded me of.

Very eclectic. I like the diversity in the size of you subjects and the color progression keeps your eyes stimulated. I think it's very unique but typical. Alot of artist use this color variation and style.

Yes, yes, YES, YES!!!

Your portraits are amazing. I do not do funny...well not when it is about something as important as art... (Did I write that out loud?)

OK...just one funny observation:
You must have some ego to trust in your ability to bring this painting to a good end, that you can sign this painting before it is finished. :-)))))
