Hey sweetie don't worry about those people being rude, let them pass thru... they come miserable, they leave miserable.
God works in wonderful ways, some just don't realize that yet. As long as you can see that then every one else doesn't matter. It is a great thing that a governor, or anyone in a high ranking position polically can still have a religion the way nay sayers bash it down so much. Prayer not only works for what you are praying for, but it also brings people together.
Have a great day.
Sporky--something happens EVERYTIME we pray, and sometimes days or weeks or years later. You don't have to have faith in God but you don't have to scrutinize someone elses faith because you don't "get it"
Susan--Things work according to God's plan, not ours. Yes we pray for the fires to burn out... it doesn't... which means God has a plan for something. Just because you don't understand the way prayer works doesn't mean it "fails", as you put it.
Pin--God doesn't "cause" hurricanes. They are necessary for our Earth and nature as everything falls into place as it should for God's will and plan.
Corrupted... or whatever--Separation of Church and State... what this governor did has nothing to do with the state or his position as governor... you can have a political stand and still believe in God and just because a political figure believes in God does not make him or her unable to do their job. Your comment is irrelevant.
Parrot--Think of it as a test, if you can think on such a high level. God wants his people to trust him. If God brings you to it, he will surely bring you thru it. Trust in him, ask and you shall receive.

God is wonderful and he does still answer prayer. Don't worry about all the negative answers people were doing that when Jesus was here. People can see a miracle and still try to explain it a way. God bless

1 there should be more to a relationship than sex. Maybe you need to not necessarily say so bluntly you suck, but maybe you can suggest different things or positions. Also what worked for your partner with his/her lover the last time maybe doesn't work for you. He/She doesn't know that until you tell them no do it this way or that way...

God is great and almighty. If you have any trouble with anything, you can go to him. God is a just loving man, and only wants the best for his children here on Earth.
Alia - how is that sad? Lemme guess, another Atheist coming on here and insulting the christians right? Why don't you atheists all go somewhere, and leave us Christians all alone, we will win this religious conflict. 86% hunny!

The word "dominion" in the Book of Genesis could be updated to "lominion," the Loving Dominion we really want, by those asking for divine intervention (not just in Georgia) in our bad habits as poor caretakers of the environment.

Hadn't ANYONE already prayed for rain? I mean, if it works why didn't anyone think of this sooner? Say, before the drought got so bad? Before the fire? Before the crops died?
Answer: nothing fails like prayer.

So much for the separation of church and state...
Or any attention being paid to the fact that this IS the rainy season down there. But no, couldn't just be normal weather patterns, noooo....
LOL - since when as ANY prayer been instant?? But believe what you will - just remember, hurricaines are caused by god too - as are droughts.

Alhumdulillah! All praise be to Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, I am delighted that your prayers were answered. May Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala send you all of the rain that you need to fill your lakes, resovoirs and rivers, to refresh the land and reawaken it.
Alhumdulillah!
ma'a salaam.

I'm glad it rained. However, "god" did not make it rain. It's called a coincidence. People who have a strong believe in a deity tend to focus heavily on the times when they prayed and something good happened and completely dismiss the vast majority of times they prayed and nothing happened.

They were calling for rain before the payer started... watch the news.
Edit - I'm glad for the rain though. I hope you folks learn some things about water management and that we'll be able to learn from you in return.
