If you've gone 3 years. Keep going. You've already proven you have the will-power. You'll be bummed once you give in to temptation...

Doesn't hurt to have red meat once in a while. I'm more of the chicken and seafood kind of gal, but there are times when I do crave me a juicy steak. When I do, I get myself a decent size steak, and prepare it to my liking. Doesn't happen often, usually about once every 3-4 months. If not steak I'll settle for some ribs they are just as good.

Your body is trying to tell you something. Hell once every 3 years ... ENJOY. Who gives a rip what these veggieheads say. Live your life. By the way congrats on being a "flexitarian vegetarian" re: the "white" meats of fish, poultry and seafood. Google "Flexitarian Diets" and you will see you are part of a larger group that is expanding beyond the old "veggie dinosaurs" you have on V&V forums.

Do you mean you eat all those other meats, but not red meat? Then really, there shouldn't be a big problem with you giving in to your craving.

Do you think just because it is not yet scientifically proven that the plants dont feel anything (which you eat)?
This is the way God created things to help humans. All you have to do is to make sure that the animal which you eat of was grown in best conditions, freely grazed, not caged and killed without being tortured and killed in the name of God as He gave that life to it. You cannot expect a lion to kill (eat) plant. That is the way he was created and he needs meat. And us need both. That is how we are created as long as we have the means and the ethical means we should try to provide for our body. Nothing in excessive of course. not even plants in excessive.

Cravings are the bodies way of telling you that your missing something from your diet. I would check the list of that is found in red meat and check if your missing anything from your diet.
The most likely case is iron.

Eat something sweet =]
I craved chicken once, and I was able to stop my craving by eating something sweet, and because I had a visual image in my head from a video I saw.

Eat lots of greens. They are high in protein, calcium and iron. Also eat fresh, raw nuts by the handful. You should get over it soon. Also, might as well give up poultry and fish too...Why not?
