Have you ever given in temporarily for just a tiny bit of your fave meat/fish?

I haven't but I'm tempted.

I don't think it helps people being self riteous about it you are only human, and have made a great decision, if you have a craving there are so many foods , out shopping Isaw veggie steak and loads of quorn foods, I personally love veggie sausage sandwich with cheese and ketchup, you've made a great lifesyle choice, good luck

Once I nearly ate chicken without thinking . I was visiting my mum at Chrissy, was very tired from travelling there, I opened the fridge, saw the chicken and other Christmas fare, I almost picked a piece up and then remembered I don't eat it, so of course I didn't have any! I was just tired and vague and didn't realise (that's only happened once).

Unfortunately I have accidentaly had things a couple of times. Just the other day I was at a work morning tea and had eaten a couple of dips (after checking the labels) then started eating another one that I was sure was a chilli dip, then later found out it also had crab in it. The one time I didn't check a label I got caught out - then I felt awful for most of the day. I don't think it had much crab in it as the taste was far outweighed by the chilli and sour cream, otherwise I would have tasted it and stopped eating it.

I vaguely remember shortly after I quit eating red meat, I ate some before stopping again & continuing the journey to vegism. I wasn't vegetarian though. So I guess that doesn't count.

I've never "given in" since being vegetarian. Probably because I don't feel deprived of anything, so there's nothing to "give in" to.

No because that would make all those years of being a veggie totally pointless. If you really believe in your reasons you wouldn't be tempted! I often get fed up with veggie food and think God I wish I cold have a Bacon butty but as soon as I saw it I wouldn't be able to eat it, all I can see is the texture of the meat and I think Yuk that's an animals flesh and I can't eat it!

It doesn't matter how bad you're tempted. If you strongly believe in being vegetarian, the fact that other people in the world like the thought of dead carcasses rotting inside them shouldn't tempt you. Just keep on living your lifestyle. It is the right thing. And try Boca Burgers. They are delicious veggie burgers.

No, I have never been tempted, and have been meatless for 10 years. I don't mind the smell of meat, but the thought of eating it makes me sick. I really think I'd throw up if I ate meat, and not because of any physical reason, but a mental one.

Well I didn't want to be vegetarian. I felt depressed and restricted and alone- especially after my daughter decided to start eating meat again, so I tried to force myself to go back to eating meat. I know it sounds strange- even to me as I say it. I tried 2 of my previous favorite meat dishes, and they definitely didn't taste like I remembered! I hated it. I realized that I'm probably vegetarian for life, and I'm gonna have to live with it. lol

I don't believe that it would make your years of being vegetarian pointless if you gave in to a craving. No one's forcing you to be vegetarian, and there are no rules you have to live by.

Ewww no. I've been a veggie since I was eight and sometimes I even forget that most people aren't. The only times that I have eaten anything non vegetarian was by mistake.

No, and I never will. Ten years as a dedicated veggie and to even consider trying meat or fish now would cancel out my previous ten years of feeling guilt free.

Being vegetarian isn't supposed to be punishment...

If you want meat, then eat meat!

I became a vegetarian when i was 13 (22 now) and i was a full vegetarian until christmas that year when my mum told me i MUST eat xmas turkey.

For several years i just ate white meat until i started travelling and coming across new meats and it seemed like a stupid thing to deprive myself of new tastes when you only live once...

So now i just don't eat pork/boar, beef/cattle and lamb/goat...

I suppose it seems a little pointless, but it is just who i am and i am pleased i stuck to one goal i set myself in life :)
