I guess it would be hard to do it without getting personal simply because faith is personal. I understand how you feel (as a Catholic we get bashed a lot, especially by people who don't understand or know the realities of our religion). Sometimes it's easier to turn the other cheek.

Possibly you should examine your faith. Most religious people don't question the basis of their beliefs nearly enough, and do find themselves in the same position as you.

If you have a clear and logical position to state then you should be OK.

You don't. You should never have to defend your faith, you have the right to believe what you believe without anyone fighting with you about it. You should also respect other people's beliefs enough to be able to say to them that "We will just have to agree to disagree."

No one should be questioning your faith. I also believe that no one should question someone's non-faith, either. I think if people left people alone to believe what they wanted to believe (as long as it's legal), we'd all be fine.
