Yes of course you can, unless there is a clause in your lease agreement that says no parties.

Oh definitely! It's very common and accepted. It's your new place, so why not have a little party? It's the place you now consider home. Celebrate, show your friends and/or relatives your new digs. There's a shortage of happiness in this world, why not celebrate an occasion? Just show off your new place and have some drinks and food and it's also a good excuse to get everyone to get together. Cheers!

Of course you can. It's just a way to meet your new neighbours and for them to meet you. If you pitch a tent on a campsite you can have a party if you want.
Any excuse and any place, parties are good.
Travelling around Europe in a Winebago, the first thing on arriving at a new site is to get out the beer and invite a few people over to get to know them.

Of course. Even though the phrase is termed "House Warming" is technically for any type of living situation like apartments, condos, houses, etc. Me and my boyfriend moved into our first apartment together a few months ago, we are renting and we had a house warming party. The point is to just eat and get gifts for your new home.

Of course you can host a housewarming party. Some people never buy and this is your home. You still would like to welcome people into your home. What does it matter who owns the deed?

To me it would be like saying that you shouldn't throw baby showers for adoptive parents. Silly huh?

A home is a home, no matter if you are paying rent or a mortgage. A new home should be celebrated, just don't over do it in a rental, or your house warming party could become your eviction notice!
