To wipe out meat across the world? Or to just stop the cruel ways they kill animals (which I can understand)?
Because if you're trying to wipe out all meat... it's not going to happen. They need beef cows and fish and poultry for the pet food industry. And they also use it in zoos to feed large carnivores.
Don't get me wrong, I'm totally against factory farms for meat and dairy. Which is why I pay more to eat an organic diet.
Don't tell me I'm an animal hater please, I love them. I was a vegetarian for about three months, and I consulted a nutritionist and ate all the things I was supposed to be eating to get my vitamins. But the scale kept on tipping down... I went to my doctor. He told me that with my blood type ('O') that it would be healthier for me to eat meat. Many people with 'O' type blood need to eat meat to stay healthy, he said.

How can you say the pet food industry would stop making meat? I thought vegans were for animals living natural lives, what else would a cat/dog eat?

I'm not aiming for anything.
I'm not going to support animal cruelty and death by not eating meat products.
What you do is up to you, but I'm not "aiming" for anything other than supporting my core life values.
If you think the planet was enlightened enough to go veggie do you really think we'd still rear animals for pet food ? Plase don't try to deflect your responsiblilty for the death of animals by saying "it would happen anyway"
Paying more for organic meat still makes you responsible for thier death, you cannot possibly say you "love" them. Please, take some responsiblilty for your actions.
Eat as much meat as you like, but don't claim you love them while munching on that organic steak.
Your doctor is wrong, there must have been something wrong with your veggie diet, there are 60 million veggies in the western world. Are you really saying not one of them is type "o" blood ?
EDIT, ha, ha, here's a laugh for you- I just looked at my bone marrow doner card and guess what, I'm type "o". I wonder how the doc would explain the last 28 years as a veggie ?
Sure there are some people who may need meat because of some rare illness, but very few, and certainly not just because of a blood group.
I'm not mad you eat meat, just mad you try to provide 3 excuses so its not your fault, rather than just admit you are happy to kill animals for your taste buds.
just admit it, no caveats please.
EDIT: Of course the meaty pet food wouldn't exist. Sorry, but you might want to think about this a bit more. Who would pay $100 per tin for dog food ? The whole meat industry props up many other industries and if we remove meat as a food the rest of it becomes uneconomical. You would ( eg) never see anothe leather sofa again.
Still waiting for your "I'm happy to kill animals for my tastebuds" statement

Personally, I became vegan because I found out about how cruelly animals are treated in factory farms. What am I aiming for? - To at least lessen the amount of abuse towards animals in the world. I do not think myself so powerful as to "wipe out" the raising of animals for food altogether.
I was interested to answer your question, because of what your doctor mentioned about people with blood type O needing meat to be "healthy". I have O positive blood. I have been vegan for 15 years, and I donate blood to the American Red Cross every 2 to 3 months as allowed. I am very healthy, and feel great being vegan.

Well, my two cats (aged 15 and 17) have eaten vegan cat food their whole lives, so it's news to me that "they need beef cows and fish and poultry for the pet food industry". Do you really believe that all the nutrients needed for animal and human survival cannot be found somewhere other than animal flesh, or that in this day and age they can't be manufactured?
I've been vegan my whole life, and have never even been sick. And guess what blood type I have? O.

MSN is WAY worse than AIM which doesn't compare to Yahoo. I like Yahoo cause you can BLEND the colors for your writing, and that CANNOT be done on the other 2. Also, can the other two let you receive messages that you get when not on? I know AIM has an option to enable, and I don't think MSN has that at all. LOL Why AIM has an option to NOT receive them is beyond this practical mind! ♥Dri Dri♥

I have no agenda or "aim". I will simply not let my money go to support the atrocities committed by the meat and dairy industries. If I had my way, I would indeed eliminate meat in all but the few areas of the world (such as the arctic) that need it to survive.
And I'm sorry, but I do have to agree with Mr. H on this one, there are literally millions of vegetarians and vegans not only surviving but thriving on their diets. Statistically, at least hundreds of thousands of them (including myself), must have type O blood. That is a poor excuse. You cannot be an "animal lover", and still pay for their confinement, torture, and death. It doesn't take a genius to know that.

I'm aiming for optimum health.
Just turns out that humans are herbivores.
It also turns out that what we eat has the largest impact on the planet; more so than anything else we do to affect the planet.
Basically, my personal health is connected to the world around me. How can I be healthy with no trees, no forests, with pollution, non-organic food, factory farming,... it's really all about me.

I am also blood type O vegan and overweight. Your Doctor is probably talking rubbish - doctors are not necessarily good nutritionists
There are plenty of vegans out there who would like to see an end to pet keeping and zoos so that would be no barrier actually. I'm not that radical as I love our cats/dogs/fish etc
I'm aiming for a better life for me and a reduction in meat and it's consequences. It's coming....

I'm not aiming for anything either. It was just a personal choice not to eat animals because I love them so much (and I'm not saying that if you do eat meat that you don't love animals). I just choose not to eat them, that's all.
I also noticed that by not eating meat, my mind was more clearer and I was less tired.
When I go out for dinner with my friends and they have their steak and I have my salad and bread, they're tired afterwards where as I'm still fine. I don't know if it's because of what they just ate or not but it's just something I noticed.
I don't know why but I noticed with a lot of meat eaters who find out that I'm vegetarian have some bitterness towards us. I wonder why. But the vegetarians that I meat don't have anything against meat eaters.
It must be something in the meat that's making y'all aggressive. JK JK!!

World domination.
Just kidding. Look, the blood-type diet is bunk. Most diets are, in fact, bunk. Maybe you weren't eating enough food when you were veg, which is why you lost the weight.
But then you have to make the decision that you feel is best for you.

I'm aiming to improve MY health since a vegetarian diet has been proven to reduce or reverse heart disease which runs in my family. Not eating dead animals is merely a bonus.
What YOU do for your peace of mind and YOUR health is in your own hands, not mine so my aims are not taking you into mind. Why are you taking this personally? It's not necessarily about YOU. Not everything is.
