This would be put by MY kennel.
This small Maltipom b itch, grey and white as you can see is a delightful lady, Very much a people dog loves her walks once or twice a day! Getting on in years but in good health generally.
The reaon she's here is because her elderly owner couldn't have her in the O.A.P Home!
Will I get adopted, Not very likely, what they haven't told you is I'm nearly an OAP myself and the general good health includes a bit of arthritis and just a little heart condition. I'm not exactly the star attraction when it comes to cute, I was once but hey that was a few years ago aren't all puppy's 'Soooooo cute', don't be fooled by the double barrelled name I'm 100% Mutt and proud of it thanks. The only people I like are the ones who leave me alone! No kids or cats please! Who loves you when you're old and grey, and those Vet bills who'd take them on? No I'm stuck here for the duration I suppose!
I do hope this is a nice place and not one that does the injection bit! This might be one of those 'nice' homes they talked about to my mistress! Wonder where she is?
Brilliant question!!!!!!

Sadly, Pit Bulls. Then the high engery dogs. Right now, in the shelter where I work, we have 20 dogs available for adoption. Only one is a large black dog (year old male Rottweiler). There are 9 other black dogs, a toy poodle, a lab pup, and a mostly black lab mix with her 6 mostly black pups. The other 10 are various colors, from two German Shepherds to 4 Yellow and 2 Chocolate Labs, plus a husky mix and a little red and white mix (I can't remember what his breeding is). It seems that (at our shelter anyways), the large black dogs are the first to be adopted, after puppies of course.

I am a young doberman
I am here because my owner bought me from a guy out of the newspaper, because he wanted a "tough" dog, he didnt bother to train me in any way and didnt realize what a handful young dobermans are.
I doubt I will get adopted unless a breed rescue gets word of me.
I am young, with no manners I jump on people and bark incessantly, I will drag anyone around that puts a leash on me and growl at other dogs because I was never neutered or socialized.
I do have my ears done which will help me get adopted and am very pretty and in good shape, but being so boisterous is a turn off for most adopters as is the doberman stigma.

If I were in the pound I would, without a doubt, be a Border Collie.
I am focused, driven, energetic, intelligent, and completely obsessive about what I'm doing. And that is exactly why I'm there. My owners realized the dogs in Babe were exceptionally well trained and maintained. Border Collie's don't come "perfect". Only perfectly loving.
I would probably get adopted eventually, though it might be a few weeks. Being an energetic breed, my rescue would ensure I went to a loving, responsible home.
Problem is...
Being a Border Collie, I wouldn't do all that well in a shelter setting. I might be euthanized for behavioral issues (such as leash tugging, excessive jumping, barking or nipping). They won't understand that it's just my personality and impatience in finding a home that is what keeps me going!
Perhaps we can discuss this in terms of me being in a foster home...

If I were a dog in a pound, I would be a mixed breed mutt! I would be there because my owners said that I couldn't be trained! (They just didn't understand that I was training THEM!)
I would be so odd looking that some would think I was cute! It would be hard to say if I would be adopted or not. I think I would spend most of my day chasing my tail (I already do that!) and many would think I am nuts!
It would also be hard to say if I would be a good candidate for adoption or the needle! I would be healthy and sweet. But, kids really get on my nerves, so I know I would bark at them, but I doubt I would bite!
Now that I think about it, I am sure there would probably be some unsuspecting soul who would fell sorry for me. That is until they brought me home and I chewed up their 14 year old daughter's mini skirt and took over the living room couch and remote!

I am a Border Collie. I was purchased by a family from a backyard breeder. My family heard that I was a smart breed and thought I would be just a good pet because of this. My byb just wanted us pups sold, so my new family didn't get any good information about the kind of dog I would grow up to be and what I would need. My family didn't do any training or try to channel my energy level into something productive. Without a job to do, I began herding the children and redecorating the house in ways my owners did not like at all. After 9 months, they finally gave up on me. They didn't want to bother with training, so I ended up in the shelter.
I think I might get rescued from the Border Collie rescue group here. I am a friendly dog that is eager to please and learns quickly. I am quite mellow when I am put to constructive tasks, something as simple as advanced obedience training. I am adoptable because I CAN learn to be a good dog with the right family who is willing to give the time commitment in training that I need.
Look, I see a 14 yr old girl who wants to get into 4-H and is looking for the right dog! Pick me! Pick me!

I am a pit bull.
I am in the pound because my owners got critisized too much for even getting me so they dumped me at the pound.
I think i would get adopted because i would sit their nicely for everyone that came near and i would do all the tricks that my previous owners taught me.
I have the traits of being a good guard dog if my owners were threatend but id still be nice enough to people i knew unless they tried to steal form my house. I would also be adorable, funny, affectionate, good with other animals and kids, and be very playful.
Some of the traits that most put me closer to sleep is the traits that i need alot of excersize so many people might not be able to handle me. I need alot of attention, i am kind of jumpy.
But i personally think that stark has the best answer.

I am a Yorki-chi-bicho-poo. I was some strange 20 times crossed designer dog that a person bred and put a large price tag on. My family bought me thinking that I'd be a good dog, or at least cute. I was just left to be a puppy, and I'd go on the carpet. Because I was never properly trained and always babied, I developed aggression problems. Then because I was poorly bred, I had a high vet bill and suffered from many illnesses. The family didn't want to put me to sleep, so they dumped me instead, and got some other mutt from a different breeder. Probably I will never be adopted, and eventually I'll meet my death behind bars.

AWESOME QUESTION!
Based on the breed quizzes I've taken and stuff, I'm probably a Lab or Retriever mix. I'm going to say I'm mixed beyond all recognition. I think I was just abandoned - they don't know why, but think I got past the cute puppy stage (and am "BIG") and am not as cute when I got older and/or my previous owner didn't like me following him/her around. I was found as a stray, and was so happy that someone wanted to play chase with me. I love people! I licked the animal control people. They just wanted to give me love!
I wasn't abused or anything, but I also wasn't socialized. In fact, some people scare me and I don't know why. I get weird vibes from people who actually aren't bad. I'm one of those "stalker dogs" that follows you into the bathroom and licks you a lot. I have a big dog bark, but I'm a total wuss. I wouldn't fight for my life. I pee when I'm scared.
I hope I'll get adopted. I'm an optimist! I'm pretty young (probably about 2), but I'm not a puppy so people might say "oh, she's too old to train." But if they take me into the meeting room, I'll definitely be friendly and show off my tricks and play ball. I'm a pleaser and I learn really fast. It's really a matter of luck. I'd be one of the dogs that barks and wags her tail when someone comes in at first, so maybe I'd get noticed, but it's hard to be noticed when there's all these little dogs and that beautiful husky in the pound! I'm so plain some people can look right at me and not see me. I've got age a bit against me, but not as much as if I were a few years older. I'm also a higher-energy dog (little do the people walking by know that I'm a huge couch potato and love to snuggle between chasing cats and birds). I love to chew on things. In fact, if I get left again, I might eat a couch. All I want is love and to be someone's shadow. And food. I love food.
Good traits:
- friendly
- happy
- young
- loyal
- mix of friendly breeds (maybe)
- could be a good family dog
Bad traits that get me closer to being put to sleep:
- separation anxiety
- not a puppy
- I'll nip if people scare me
- submissive urination
- not good with cats or small pets
- would prefer to be an only dog - I don't like competing for attention very much - but I do get along with other dogs
- I shed a lot. A LOT.
- plain, might overstay my time in the shelter
Now, if my dog were to come in as a human, I hope she'd adopt me...
ETA: I'm not exactly my dog, but she and I definitely have a lot in common.

I would be an American Pit Bull Terrier. I would be there because my "owner", the very person I loved, wanted me to fight and all I wanted to do was love. He starved me, beat me, and used me as a bait dog until he realized I was a waste of time. I do think I would get adopted, but it would take time for the right person to come along and see how special I am. Someone would come along and see how loving, loyal, and sweet I am. I would always have tons of kisses and tail wags to pass around to everyone I meet, and I'd be extremely good with children. All the children on the block would love playing with me. I would love to play outdoors, but can settle down when needed. I think the traits that would get me closer to being put to sleep is my breed and shyness that would take time to overcome. Also, I wouldn't trust people that easily, but I would never snap or show my teeth to anyone. Someone, though, would find it in their heart to give me a good home and shower me with all the love and affection my former owner didn't. They know I would deserve it because of the horrible situation I had to go through and the abuse I endured. All in all, I would get adopted by someone special.
