Vegans believe bees produce honey for themselves, not for humans. We destroy their habitats and steal the honey from them for our own benefit. Some bees are often crushed in the process and the queen bees are routinely killed on purpose. The hives are often gassed and the bees are bred and transported around the world which all causes them great stress.

Because it comes from an animal and sometimes when the smoke from the tools are used to get the bees out of the beehive the bees die but it is just mostly the honey that is in the bottles.

The bees make the honey for themselves, not for humans. I know lots of bees are kept lovingly and the honey made by hobby bee-keepers and small farms is a lot more animal friendly than the huge bee "factories" that mass-produce honey, where lots of bees get crushed.
Honey, like wool, is one of those things that some vegans will use but most won't.

Not only vegans but many others do not eat honey. My 8 year old daughter won't eat it now since she found out that it was mainly bee vomit (thank you Discovery Channel!!!@#*&@#!!!!). I use orange honey occasionally to flavor my tea. But then again, we are not vegans either.

The rationale is that the bees' natural food is being taken and replaced with an inferior substitute.

I'm a vegan and I eat honey. If a few bees die for the product it's OK. Honey is really good.
