If I got an HIV infection on purpose would you consider that suicide?

You'd be surprised how hard it is to get an HIV infeciton when you're looking for one. If I succeded, would you consider it suicide?

Thanks for your answers, but I didn't ask if it was stupid or not. I asked if you'd consider it suicide. I would let it go, untreated. I'm fully aware of the effects of HIV.

You'd be surprised how hard it is. I've tried offering people 1000.00 for just a prick of their blood, but so far no takers...

Have you every seen anyone die from the slow, hellish, agonizing death from HIV??? I have....and believe me, it is the most cruel way to go. The person that I watched die from this, would of given anything in his life not to of gone this way.
There was nothing even the slightest bit pretty from this death.
I think you should go take a look at people dying from HIV..and have a little wake up call. Go talk to someone who has lost a loved one from this cruel killer, and maybe you would realize how very fortunate you are to be healthy.
Seriously.. you need to see firsthand the devastating effects of HIV. I guarantee you...you would hate yourself for what
you did to yourself...but it would be too late to ever go back.
Don't be foolish. Anyone with HIV...would do anything to trade places with you.

While many people may disagree, I would not consider it suicide. If you intentionally contract the HIV virus, you will likely shorten your life, but many things we do shorten our lives, like smoking, eating junk food, not exercising, etc. The fact is, drug cocktails given to people with HIV are fairly good and may delay the onset of AIDS for decades. Given this, it is likely you will die from something else (car accident, choking, murder) before the HIV virus has a chance to do its job.

Hello yes I would consider it suicide.Suicide is the action of killing your self intentionally, weather it takes a long time or death is immediate.smokers alcoholics,I hope you will reconsider what you are trying to do. But then my family wishes the same thing for me I SMOKE.One thing we must take in consideration is not to harm others on our mission to commit suicide,So once your mission is completed remember there are people that do not want HIV and do not deserve to get it.Please reconsider what you are doing.I wish you well.

a ten year long suicide
it can take 10-14 years to even show symptoms

why would you want to die like that?
it's slow & painful

all of your organs & systems slowly shut down

your immune system will no longer work, so you can't fight off germs or sickness

& what about your sex life?
it wouldn't be fair to spread it to other people, & have them spread it to other people, etc
do you honestly think someone will want to be intimate with you if you have aids?
& if you don't plan on telling them you do.... what do you think will happen when they find out you have it & knowing they may have gotten it?
what if you truly fall in love with that person?
i'm sorry to say, but they aren't going to want to stick around

Its suicide. Plain and simple. Whats wrong that you feel there is no way out? What about all those people who have it, and would sell their soul for a chance at being HIV negative? Listen if your trying to reach out for help, PLEASE call someone or admit yourself into a mental ward. Don't risk it by dying with a serious infectious desease. Pray. Just pray to our Heavenly Father.

I think that would be, yes. I see suicide as wanting to die so if you're actually looking foward on catching the infection with having full knowledge of it, it shoudn't be any different than attempting on a different method of ending yourself. But seriously, good question!

No one could say it is a suicide. Maybe an attempted suicide, but you could live years and they could develop a cure and fix you.

(They have found a vaccine, but because the AIDS/HIV campaigns make so much money, the ones who developed the vaccine have been hushed).
