Vacuuming. Leather sofas instead of Canvas. No carpetting. The other thing is most dust at home comes from dead skin cells. I almost forgot, maybe an air filter will help as well.

Some things:
* make sure you are using a HEPA vacuum (like Eureka Boss)
* Replace carpets with vinyl flooring or hardwood (at least in the bedroom)
* have an electrostatic filter installed in the furnace
* Keep humidity around 20-30% in winter - low humidity and high humidity both cause allergy problems (can also be installed on furnace)
* consider taking her to an allergist to see about allergy shots to desensitize her
* remove curtains and replace them with blinds
* use mattress and pillow covers that prevent dust mites from passing through the material

Make sure you get your ducts cleaned regularly. If her allergies are severe I would definitely take the carpet off, if you have carpet. All these dust particles get stuck there and it is often troublesome. I have had the carpet removed and yes there is a difference.

buy a dehumidifier. when my brother asthma acted up, it was a great help to have one of those around. it literally pulls dust into itself and then you just clean the filter.
