i usually clean my ears with Qtips even though i know i'm not supposed to but i dont like the feeling of earwax in my ear..anyway, about a week ago i did it and it clogged up my ear. i thought it would go away in a couple days but it didn't . is there anything i can do about it that doesn't require going to a doctor? any home remedy or OTC?

Lots of OTC's, just find the one you like. I like the candle because it works really well, but most people weird out with fire that close to your head.

I've read recently that you can dip a Qtip in warm olive oil. And over the course of a week, you gently insert it into your ears. You need to apply it several times a day. Supposedly, it loosens the wax, and eventually it will dislodge the wax in your ear. Just be careful, I'm not too keen on home remedies.

Get some peroxide and put a little bit (half a cap full) in your ear, you should lay down on your side and make sure your head is level. It will feel weird and will bubble a lot but it will clean out your ear. Leave it in for a few minutes, then hold a tissue over your ear before you sit up.
