Passive smoking is extremely dangerous and gives the recipient all the risks of a smoker, but at a lower level. If subjected to it on a regular basis it is addictive.

Even though non smokers don't become addicted to smoking through passive smoking, isn't it bad enough for them to die from passive smoking?

Second-hand smoke is said to be worse than actually smoking because you're breathing in the toxic by-products of the cigarette. This can harm your heart and respiratory system, but you're not actually becoming addicted to the cigarette itself unless you smoke it. I guess there is a certain jolt of pleasure that smokers get from inhaling, that non-smokers do not. The harmful effects exist for both, however.

The carcinogens that cause the addiction are all enhaled by the direct user. The ones that escape into the air are harmful in larger doses over time, but not addictive. It gets diffused in the open air too much.

Maybe the amounts of nicotine in the second hand smoke are too low to cause addiction?

Because they usually die of lung cancer.
Like the late Roy Castle who never smoked but played his trumpet in smoke filled clubs up and down the country little knowing that he was passive smoking and it was killing him.

Who says they haven't? Have you got proof that those that smoke didn't become addicted purely from smelling others' smoke?

It's not the addiction that gives you cancer; it's the smoke regardless of whose lungs it passed through first. Imagine that filth! Crap out of someone else's lungs going through your nose and mouth, into your lungs....and they call it "passive smoke."
