She is on birth control and I didn't use a condom. From my knowledge and to hers she is clean but her mother has herpes, what is the chance that I have contracted something and what are the symptoms? It happened yesterday.

Did her mother have herpes when she was born??? if so then the doctor would have insisted on a C-section, if she had a C-section then you should be safe. But you will need to get tested to know for sure. You could have a negative test if it's been less than six months since the last time you had sex. Your best bet if you are worried, is to not sleep with anyone else for six months, then get tested for everyone. If you do not know if you have something you better not sleep with any other girls, because if you do you could always pass it on to an innocent girl. And for goodness sake, who cares if she is on birth control, that is no reason not to wear a condom, that is what has you in this place. Birth control is just that, it's only birth control!!!! You could walk away not a father, but you could walk away with Herpes, why risk it!!!

If you did contract something, you probably won't develop symptoms for a few months. In fact, a lot of men don't EVER develop "symptoms" for specific STDs.
Even if you don't develop a rash, a burning sensation when you pee, itching, sores, etc, you need to get tested. You could be carrying a STD and never realize it. I believe some can cause infertility, which you obviously are trying to avoid now, but years down the road you may actually want a child!
Herpes is not cureable, but there are TREATMENT options available from your doctor--Valtrex, to name one.
Most others (excluding HIV) can be cured with antibiotics.
You need to make an appointment with your doctor and get tested. Do some research online to see if you have a time-frame before you can test positive (saves you a trip later!)
And the best part? Free condoms. :) Good luck to ya, and I hope you wrap up from here on out!

This must be a scary time for you,and I'm sorry that you gave into the all to common and very powerful temptation to commit fornication.Unfortunately in my past I also had to wait around to see If I had dodged the bullet or not.I thank God that I did and started taking his suggestion of waiting until marriage before having sex quite a bit more seriously. The fact is ,is that the reason for Gods Commandment to not commit adultry is not to rob you of your joy but so that you may have the joy of not living in fear as you may be now. The worst part of this particular type of situation is the waiting around and not knowing.I know that for myself each day was miserable.I hate to say this but you'll just have to wait it out to find out. Though I mean not to give you the idea that there is no bullet in the gun which is used in this harmful and deadly game of Russian Roulette, but the odds are that you're probably fine, statisticly speaking.I only say this because while dealing with my own fears I did my own statictical mathimatical computations in order to find out what my at risk levels were taking demographics into consideration. But this is why I feel that schools should teach abstinence, because everyone knows that sex with a condom is practically pointless when it comes to the pleasure aspect. So many people in the passion of the moment don't bother to use condoms. Next thing you know you have people sitting around worrying weather or not they've contracted a disease.God is merciful, but it's foolish to tempt the grace and mercy of the Good Lord.My suggestion is that you wait until your married to have sex and than stay faithful to your wife.I'll say a prayer for you.Let not your heart be troubled. But learn from your mistakes that you might live a long and properious life.May God Bless You.

Casual sex is the curse of recent generations. Since you probably don't have a clue as to how many partners she's been with in the past, there's a strong possibility that you have some kind of STD. Reckless sexual behavior has its risks. You'd think that young people would get smart and abstain from sex until they're at least in a long-term committed relationship - or until they marry. But I guess that's asking too much of our contemporary, amoral society. -RKO- 11/11/07

Please go to your local Health Dept. as soon as you can and no matter what, next time USE A CONDOM!!! If you keep on the way you've just done, if you don't have something now YOU WILL.I totally understand the inconvenience of using a condom but it is more inconvenient to have to treat an STD or deal with it for the rest of your life. Think about it, okay, take care of your body, don't screw it up for a few minutes of pleasure.

Go to a search engine and type in "std symptoms" it'll give you tons. However, if you just had sex yesterday you won't be showing symptoms already, and some people don't ever show symptoms. Your best bet would be to see a doctor, and wear a condom next time.

For every problem there's always a solution. Do not panic!!
CONSULT A DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!
- HIV you wouldn't know if yo have it or not, FOR SURE, unless you wait and test after 3 months.
-herpes you may or may not contract it on day one of having unprotected intercourse. Same with HIV ..... Consult your physician, pray...and keep on thinking positive that your body will fight it... Pray and stay strong. May God, all gods, everything help you to remain safe.

You may not have symptoms for awhile. However, why would you have unprotected sex anyway? If you just practice safe sex then you'll never have these worries. Unprotected sex should only happen in a very long term relationship and only when you KNOW each other is clean. Call a health clinic in your area and get advice.

Always use a condom especially if you're not sure if she is clean. Don't use one & you're asking for a ton of problems. The girl needs to get tested for an STD/HIV & so do you. ASAP.

Just go get a test done, but I think you should be ok though if your girlfriend is clean. Next time just put on a condom and you won't have to worry about this!
