Vegetarians don't eat animals and fish are animals.

"Pescetarian" means "believer of fish".

The correct term is piscivorous omnivore.

Vegetarians do not eat animals. So the pescetarian diet would fall under that of an omnivore's.

A pescetarian is an omnivore because vegetarians by definition don't eat meat. Meat is the flesh of an animal and fish are animals. They may not be as cute or furry as the others but they are still animals... they have eyes, mouths, brains, blood, nervous systems, parents and can produce offspring.

Pescetarianism

Pescetarianism is a dietary choice, in which a person — known as a pescetarian — will not eat the flesh of any animals other than types of seafood. Other animal products like eggs and dairy may be part of a pescetarian diet. Pescetarianism is the chosen diet of some people for various reasons; most commonly cited are health benefits. Terms like pescevegetarianism[1] and pesco-vegetarianism are sometimes used to describe pescetarianism, to emphasize that most pescetarians eat vegetables in addition to seafood. These terms are controversial because they imply that pescetarianism is a type of vegetarianism, a subject on which there is not consensus since fish and other aquatic creatures consumed by pescetarians are in fact animals, and vegetarians do not eat animals.

An omnivore is someone who eats foods of plant origin and foods of animal origin. Pescetarians eat fish, which is very clearly food of animal origin. So, they are omnivores.

Lets try this simplified explanation... (not for you ME, I know you know the difference)

Pescetarians = eat fish
Fish = animal
Vegetarian ≠ eat fish

THEREFORE,

Pescetarian = omnivore = nonvegetarian

Strictly speaking, an omnivore.

But in this age where many people look down upon vegetarianism, being a pescetarian could be considered vegetarian.

It's your take.
