No, you don't lose your vocational licence (license for my American cousins), but you might lose your LGV driving license ... at least, until such time that your diabetes is under control.

no not in all cases believe it or not the final desicion rests with your doctor and it is him who decides if you are safe enough to drive a lgv if he decides your not he will inform the dvla and you wont loose your lgv liciense it will just be suspended until your doc makes a further decision gettin back to your question i no drivers who are insulin dependent who still drive class 1 but are subject to more regular checks if you think your are a worst case and fear your doc may take your license then join a union ASAP the compensation payout in my union [tgu] has just gone from £7OOO LUMP SUM to £10,000 if you loose your licence from diabeeties but you need to be a member hope you stay on the road friend but the compensation helps goodluck

Not necessarily! It all depends on the State laws. To check, call or go to the department and ask for the law where you live.
A person may have to prove that they are staying in compliance with near normal glucose levels all the time. Insulin just is one more way to stay in compliance with diabetes treatment.
