All of the above responded very well, you are normal, just take a sweet soft drink and you will be all right.

I had that problem also. I went to the hospital and they did numerous tests. I was diagnosed with tachycardia syndrome. (not a dangerous illness) and they do not consider it a heart ailment. If you choose to get testing make sure you ask for a tilt table test. Most cardiologists leave that test out. Although that is the test that actually found the problem. And yes, I also have low potassium, and that does have something to do with my problem. Ask for lab work to check for that. But as the last person had answered, don't use over the counter Potassium without consulting a Dr, after you find out if you do have low potassium. Using the OTC supplements can raise your potassium to high if you don't use it correctly. I pray they find a diagnosis. And a good cardiologist is the best avenue to take. I know how uncomfortable an odd heartbeat can be. They also normally put you on a 24 hour heart monitor. That is normal. So please don't be alarmed by that.
I will be praying for you. Since I went through the same symptoms it really doesn't seem like a dangerous issue you are dealing with. But consulting with a cardiologist will ease your symptoms, And also make sure you are dealing with something that is not dangerous. It is always better consult a professional than to just let it go.

Several things could cause that.

One hypothisis for U - From my personal experiance could be to get your thyroid levels checked. Ask Dr. It's simple blood work UR insurance will cover the testing for ( Free T-4, TSH and T-3 Levels)

Thyroid is a Gland in your neck that sends a signal to the patuitary <-(sp) Gland to relase a Hormone called TSH. This Hormone controls 80% of your bodily functions. If Levels are X-treamly High (my case) The Gland could be over active. (working harder)

This is like Reganomics here or trickel down the river.

It caused increased heart rate for me even at my most tired points I could not sleep (insomniea occured). Along with other organs becoming overactive as well. I also became very emotional or irritable.

Check it out and Best Wishes too.

A low potassium level can cause abnormal heartbeat. I've had the same problem and the doctor prescribed potassium. Get some lab work to see if that's the problem. Over the counter potassium will not fix the problem.

When you say abnormal, in what way? Is it irregular?
Some irregular heart rhythms occur when stressed or over-tired, eg atrial fibrillation.
See your doctor and it might be suggested that you wear a heart monitor for a while to check the ecg readings.
