Yes, I have and would date someone with HSV2.
Believe it or not, A LOT of people are very accepting of it. A lot of people would tell you they would NEVER date someone with herpes, but I find that hard to believe. 75 - 80% of the world has cold sores (oral herpes) and about 25% of the world has genital herpes. They are going to exclude themselves from dating 75 - 80% of the world? Doubt it.
I have had genital herpes for 7 years. I have been in several relationships, the longest being 4 years and the current one being 2 years. I even met and dated a guy who also had genital herpes. ALL of the men I have dated and had sex with were totally open to dating me even though I have genital herpes. They were all super supportive and great to me about it. Of course we did every thing we could so that I wouldn't spread the virus to them, like using condoms, and me taking medication. The guy I was with for 4 years never even contracted the virus from me, or any of the other men! The only guy that contracted the virus from me is my current fiance. He doesn't care at all though! He loves me for me, virus and all.
There are a lot of great guys/girls out there! They won't care if someone has genital herpes, they see the person for who they are, not the virus they have!
Take care!

Yup, sure why not, they're still human beings worth having someone to care for them. The biggest problem with hsv-II is the lifestyle that people are forced to live because society denies them the respect and understanding they need.

Of course I would! As long as proper precautions are taken to prevent its spread, there's absolutely NO reason not to. Honesty of the infected person is essential but, after being honest and taking precautions there is absolutely NO reason to exclude an infected person from your life, solely based on that person having HSV.

Had to look that up. Considering the lack of symptoms in the dormant state, and the prevalence in the population, I probably have. Wouldn't anymore, I'm married. If I wasn't married, it would depend on how interested I was in the person.

I don't think it would be an issue that would come up on a first date, so yes it is a possibility I might.

i think i have HSV2 and i have a bf. i've been living with him for a year now and dated him for a year. he says he loves me no mattter what and wants to be there for me and with me. we take all the precautions like not having sex while experiencing symptoms of an outbreak or if we have cold sores (i think he might have HSV1).

Yes definitely I would, have, and would love to again. Then again I do have hsv2 myself so I guess that question wasn't geared towards me. It just makes it alittle easier when my partner and I have that in common.
