While a vegan is a vegetarian he or she does not eat any type of meat or eggs, dairy or anything from animals so they won't wear things from animals either while a plain vegetarian can eat those things except for meat.

Vegetarians don't eat any meat.
Vegans don't eat any meat, + they don't eat any animal products, such as milk (and therefore cheese, yogurt, sour cream or chocolate containing milk, or cookies containing milk), eggs (and therefore no cookies containing eggs), honey (and therefore no sweets containing honey). Also, no gelatin as it includes animal something - and this can also go for vegetarians as a no-no.
Depends on how strict you want to be. Thus, vegans can also refuse to wear any leather clothes, or animal fur coats.
Some medicines may contain extracts of animal something, such as those fish oil supplements of Vitamin E - and well, vegans as well as vegetarians will refuse such a product.

vegetarian
Vegetarian diets exclude all meat, poultry, and fish and are based on plant foods. Most vegetarians include dairy products and eggs in their diet; this type of diet is sometimes described as lacto-ovo-vegetarian whereas vegetarians who exclude all animal foods from their diet are termed vegans.
vegan
Vegan diets comprise only plant foods and exclude all meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, eggs, and honey. Although many poor peasant agriculturalist populations have diets based on plant foods with only small amounts of animal food, there are no traditional societies which follow a completely vegan diet. The word was coined by Donald Watson as ‘the beginning and end of vegetarian’, and the first vegan society was formed in Britain in 1944.

Veganism is going previous in basic terms nutrition.. it additionally ability residing a existence type that may not harm the ecosystem or animals. greater effective than something vegans are hell bent on proscribing the suffering of animals- that's admirable yet seen radical via others. "human beings choose to be vegan for well being, environmental, and/or ethical reasons. as an occasion, some vegans sense that one promotes the beef marketplace via eating eggs and dairy products. that's, as quickly as dairy cows or egg-laying chickens are too previous to be effective, they're generally bought as meat; and because male calves do no longer produce milk, they generally are raised for veal or different products. some human beings stay away from those products by way of fact of situations linked with their production. Many vegans choose this existence type to sell a greater humane and being concerned international. They understand they do no longer look to be suited, yet have faith they have a duty to attempt to do their maximum suitable, mutually as no longer being judgmental of others. " "between the reasons for being a vegetarian are well being, ecological, and non secular concerns, dislike of meat, compassion for animals, theory in non-violence, and economics. human beings generally replace into vegetarian for one reason, be it well being, faith, or animal rights, and later undertake a number of the different reasons as nicely." so which you notice, vegans are vegitarians- yet a greater severe radical variety. yet i will assert that vegan popcorn, with flaxseed oil and a few spices.. astounding.

Vegetarians don't eat meat. (Although some of them even continue to eat chicken and fish and still call themselves "vegetarian"!) vegans don't eat meat, milk, eggs, or anything else containing animal products. They don't by products from companies that conduct non-required animal toxicity tests (most do), wear fur, leather, wool, or silk, or visit zoos, circuses, rodeos, or other places of "entertainment" where animals are held in captivity or forced to perform

Vegetarians can't eat the meat of an animal, but they can eat the milk and eggs and stuff. Vegans can't eat anything that comes out of an animal, and that means ANYTHING - not even honey or Jello!
There is a type of vegetarian called a pesceterian. They are vegetarians, but they can eat fish. I don't get that - does that mean that land animals have more rights than fish? |>( x)
