I am afraid that my boyfriend has given me HPV...or some type of STD. He has had 10 partners in his lifetime which I consider to be a lot and I am pretty sure he has not used protection with all of them. I love him but I do not want to subject myself to diseases or whatever else he may have considering how rampant std's are nowadays. I don't know what to do. Should I leave because of my fear or stick it out?

If this guy cares about you and desires a future with you he should be willing to go and get tested in order to protect you from whatever he may have come in contact with before meeting you. You can love someone but when your life depends on the outcome of their earlier indescretions, love goes right out the window. Not only can you contract HIV but also Hepatitis, Cancer and STD's that will destroy any chace of having your own children. Always wise to get a test.

I think this is one of those questions that no one can really answer for you. It might be hard, but you're going to have to decide what you feel comfortable with. Also, take into consideration how your mother will feel after finding out that your boyfriend gave you 2 std's. Will that change the way she perceives your boyfriend, and if so, is that something you want to risk? Also, have you talked to your boyfriend about this yet? Cause if you're wanting to have your mom call and tell your boyfriend about the std's, then that is not a very good choice, since you should be the one to start the conversation with him. Also, you should find out if he knows where he got the std's from, since std's don't just appear and are passed from one partner to another. Best of luck with whatever you decide :)

If your boyfriend has had sex with someone with HPV chances are you will get it, so go to the doctor. there is Guardasil, a vaccination for it, but if the HPV is type four or five then it will not cure it. Get a pap smear and if it comes back abnormal then your doctor will treat you. The longer you wait the worse it will get and I know that you don't want a colposcopy.

Before you have sex, you should both get tested. If he's not willing to do that, then this isn't a relationship with a future.

More than 80% of women have been exposed to HPV, and they now make a vaccine for it called Guardasil. Even if your insurance does not cover it, it is a good investment for the future.

I would suggest that both of you go to the doctor's and go get STD screenings and then decide what to do after you get the results. If you really loved him, you would talk it out with him.

You should be open with him about your concerns and you should both be tested for STDs. After that, use a condom.
