The chance is very slim, but if the person with oral herpes touches their mouth and then your genitals, it could spread. Mouth to genital contact would, of course, be much more likely. However, just because they have oral herpes doesn't mean they don't have genital herpes; they could have spread it to themself and, depending on how they contracted oral herpes, they could have genital herpes as well. Best use protection until you know for sure.

I got identified with herpes virus (type 2) about four yrs ago, whilst I was still in college and had a foolish one-night stand. I know lots of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/Vihc3 everything got better.

Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes virus from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This method gave me back the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

Why would you be having sex with someone with oral herpes? Probably the answer is, if there are no symptons, then you are probably safe but, please, if this person is just a casual aquaintance then leave leave him/her alone - you need to protect yourself first.

Sure why would you even consider it?
