Saves resources, whaich are normally extracted, refined and processed at great environmental cost, as well as having a habit of causing wars.

Why shouldn't people recycle? It's a much easier question to answer.
Because it is better to Reduce or Reuse.

To realize cost savings equal to the difference of the marginal cost of throwing an item in the trash and the marginal cost of recycling it, assuming the marginal cost of recycling is lower. That condition is not always satisfied. For example, my previous trash service charged $3 extra for recycling, so I just tossed everything in the trash. However, my current trash service doesn't charge extra for recycling, so I'm ambivalent toward placing recyclables in the trash and placing them in the recycling bin.

If we continue to bury all of our trash in landfills, it will eventually become necessary to open a landfill in YOUR backyard, and I'm almost positive you wouldn't want to put up with the stench, the leaching, the rats, the noise of garbage trucks dumping their loads, the rancid air, the pollution or the stagnating pools of water. -RKO- 10/30/07

Because of a little thing called...GLOBAL WARMING! woooooh! you got it. If you put things in regular rubbish bins they are BURNED causing CARBON EMISSIONS! Oh my goodness you didnt realise? The world is burning up and were all gonna burn with it if we dont drown first!
