Most vacuumed sealed or packed foods have a long shelf life but eventually nothing lasts forever (maybe salt, pepper & sugar?).

Rice, dried pasta, canned goods, cup a soup, ramen noodles, boxes of mac & cheese, rice a roni, microwave popcorn....

Interesting question. I'd like to know, myself.

I'm not familiar with any food product that does not expire at some point in time. Unless it was made by the Army or Navy, or food for the shuttle maybe? e.g., dried products, like the beef jerky... but I'm not sure if grocery beef jerky has expiration dates.

P.S. Pastas do expire, and so do frozen goods. I was surprised when I saw a frozen spinach that had an already expired date in the grocery store. But they tell me it lasts longer than that. Just gets freezer burnt, after a while, I think. smile smile...

P.S.S. I don't know about ethnic foods. Hey, anybody out there that knows about those things?

I recently read an article in the weekly agriculture section of the local paper ,which dealt with scientific reasons for honey being a produst that does not deteriorate with time .Vinegar is also one such food product ,many homes in Goa & other places in India make vinegar at home ,from sugarcane juice with time i have noticed a sediment settles at the bottom of the bottle but this does not alter the quality .Vinegar is a good food preservetive, used in sauces & pickles for this reason.
Spices properly packages & stored have a very long shelf life, but like all good things does have an end,

In keeping with the spirit of this forum - Ethnic Cuisine:

Vinegar... all types, even the Chinese Black Vinegar.

Salted Dried Preserved Fish, as long as you keep it dry and free from pest. Ziploc it and freeze it. My wife's parents (Chinese) would keep their Salted Fish with the rice. The rice acted like a desiccant, keeping the moisture out of the fish.

Honey. It has no expiration date, and never goes bad. Check it out for yourself.
