if you don't like chemical medication, things like chamomile tea or st. johns wort are available. at the health product store, they sell alternative medicine and you can usually consult someone, on the sight.

Try meditation, deep breathing exercises, nice long bath, or a cool shower. Take a walk, a walk with a friend is even better, listen to some calming music, I like native American Indian music, or the sounds of nature, you chose what calms you. I suffer from anxiety also and I take an anti anxiety pill that my doctor prescribed but the things I listed helps also..

Your tachycardia may not be from anxiety. It may be a sign there there is something wrong with your heart. It could also be a side effect of some medication that you are taking for something else. I would see a doctor and see what they thing, but go to someone good, someone who listens, not just writes prescriptions for random things. How rapid is rapid? Above 100 bpm?

Just lay down and try to keep still and then point you toes and stop. Then flex your legs (try to do all your muscles as one) and stop, then flex your arms and stop, now flex your FINGERS, and STOP. Ok now do the same to your neck and then just stay where you are for a min. Now take 10 deep breaths each time breathing through your mouth and out through your noes, now just stay there for however long you like. Good luck, this always works for me, lol.

Lose weight.
Saturated fat is the main dietary cause of high blood cholesterol. Saturated fat is found mostly in foods from animals and some plants. Foods from animals include beef, beef fat, veal, lamb, pork, lard, poultry fat, butter, cream, milk, cheeses and other dairy products made from whole and 2 percent milk. All of these foods also contain dietary cholesterol. Foods from plants that contain saturated fat include coconut, coconut oil, palm oil and palm kernel oil (often called tropical oils), and cocoa butter.

Please go see a health care professional...you never know what some things mean. You may just need certain medication to keep things "in check".
