The socio economic status and what particular groups are effected by HIV/AIDS. You could be kind of basic for the science part and just research the different strains of HIV, which one's are resistant to meds etc. Or if you really want to get down in it, research HIV itself and show how it effects cells in the human body.

In response to the person who said there was a treatment you read up on- was this Hoxey???

O, if you can do your project on anything, look up Hoxey (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called). Some cancer treatment that was only available in Mexico, I think it still is. But lots of Americans flock to the some of the centers- the treatment has to do with some food horses ate, got better etc etc etc. Good luck =)

Here's a few I just thought about:

How AIDS spreads from person to person
How people can prevent AIDS
What AIDS does to the body and why it is so hard to find cure
How many people are affected by AIDS around the world
How AIDS is on the rise in impoverished nations/areas and what preventive measures they are trying to tak

It's really surprising how little people really know about AIDS, many people still think it can be spread by kissing a person with AIDS so it's good to get the facts out there. Hope this helps you out!

I read just recently that there is a treatment regimen that can fully supress HIV. It's not a cure, but it keeps the patients immune system normal for as long as they maintain the treatments. I think a lot of people would find that an interesting project.

I read it in a new article on portal of evil news. A google search should find you the address.

Well you could deal with the mutation of the cell communities that make the diease nearly impossible to pin down and treat. you could also discuss the treatments that are successful in delaying HIV from turning into the AIDs virus. It depends how involved you want to be here.

The Myths of AIDS.
There has been so much mis-information regarding AIDS.
There should be more direct information from professionals to help to educate the public.
Do some research on this and it would be a very interesting topic.

Studies have been done to show that people who drink lots of black tea (these were AIDS patients I believe) had stronger immune systems than those who didnt.

I'm fairly sure that it's not widely known and something done relating to it would be impressive to a teacher.
