I plan on calling the doctors office after they open up this morning, but I did not know if I could tell them that it is not working right. He has the Nebulizador Familiar A Piston / Piston Compressor Nebulizer / Model 3050/3040. The trouble shooting section mentions that there should be an aerosol that comes out of the nebulizer, but nothing but air comes out. No mist, steam, anything like that. Is it broken or what. It is new.

Thanks to everyone who answered. I took it back after a nurse friend of mine said that it obviously did not work. We have a new one now and it works fine.

You should be seeing a fine cloud like mist. re-read the instructions and try again. If you are still having the same problems then It would be good to have a pharmacist or Dr. to show you if you are putting it together properly.

I use a nebulizer daily, Did you put the medicine in the nebulizer? If not it will be just air? Did you connect the tubing correctly to the machine? Did you set up his cannula correctly? You should have had your doctor show you how to use it. Its odd that they didnt. Not easy if you dont have a clue on what to do. Let me know if this helps

I have the same problem sometime with mine. Usually I soak it in real hot water for a few minutes. Some times the medicine that is left over from the last time gums up in there and blocks something off. Try that and if it doesn't work you may have a defective one and will have to get a new one.

double check the manual and make sure that you are putting the contents of the nebule in the right place. It's easy to get confused with all the tubes and things where to put the medicine!

If all else fails, take it to the place where you bought it and get them to set it up!
