Thrush (or a yeast infection) happens to almost every woman out there! It's extrememly common for a woman to get a least one yeast infection during their life, if not several of them. It is NOT a STD. It's basically an imbalance of the "good" bacteria and the "bad" bacteria which are BOTH naturally found in the vagina.
A LOT of things can cause yeast infections. One of the most common reason for getting a yeast infection is the use of antibiotics. Other reasons can include:
+ Having high estrogen levels (hyperestrogenemia), such as during pregnancy, hormone replacement therapy (HRT or ERT) use, high-dose birth control pill use, and the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle.
+ Having diabetes, especially if your blood sugars are not well controlled and tend to be high.
+ Having an impaired immune system.
+ Using corticosteroids, such as prednisone.
+ Being overweight.
+ Having the genital area exposed to moisture for a long period of time (for example, wearing a wet bathing suit all day) or living in a warm, humid climate.
+ Using an intrauterine device (IUD).
+ Having a sex partner with symptoms of yeast infection (very rare).

Your wife having a yeast infection is not a sign of her cheating. Take care!

This is a bacterial infection, not a viral infection. Thrush can be spread through intercourse, but it is not the same as an STD, you can develop it all on your own.
Women are particularly susceptible to thrush, do to the nature of a vagina and the bacteria that live there. Having frequent showers can upset your bacteria balance, wearing panties all the time can do it, even what you eat can lead you to develop thrush.
Because it is caused by bacteria (like food poisoning is) it can be spread if you come into contact with it. There are topical creams, and pills you can get that will get rid of it.
When I was a breast feeding baby, my mum caught thrush, so she had to stop feeding me, so that i wouldn't get it. It's not just an STD.
I have never cheated on my hubby, and sometimes he can't do anything right either. And sometimes he's awesome.
If you really think she is having an affair, just ask her. A husband and wife should be able to communicate about anything. And I said ASK her, not ACCUSE her!

Thrush is just a yeast infection, and they happen to all women. It's not proof of anything. The sticky residue is just the white discharge which accompanies the infection. It would also make her very sore in the area, and itchy- and that would not improve until it's treated. In fact, matters would only get worse. Her moodiness might be affected by having the discomfort, and given that yeast infections are also aggrivated by the hormones of the menstrual cycle, you just got hit with a double whammy. Sorry, that the "worse" part of the better/worse end of the vows. She wouldn't have any way of knowing where those little yeast came from, they grow on the skin of every human in the world quite naturally. They are already on hers, and yours for that matter. And you could have been the source just as easily. Do you do the "shake and tuck it in" after you go to the toilet? Well, it's not a problem for you- but, those bacteria can thrive in the tiny folds of your anatomy. They won't cause you trouble, but they sure will her, if you share them before you have a nice bath. So you may have a yeast infection now, although that too is not likely. All you need to do is visit the doctor. He/she can prescribe a cream for her, and pills for you that will solve the problem. It's not a major deal here. It's not evidence anybody cheated. It just proves she has female equipment. While you are both being treated, it will be better if you don't swap bodily fluids. In the future, and yes- there will likely be other yeast infections in the years to come- you won't want to have sex if she thinks she's got one. It won't improve matters at all, and you can end up with urethritis as a result. She can end up with a bladder infection as well. So quit pointing fingers and looking for evidence, there's none to find here. Go to see the doctor and get treated. Simple as that.

Thrush isn't necessarily an STD, it can be caused by knickers that are too tight for example.
I say, shame on you, you should be more trusting. If she hasn't cheated on you or anyone else before, why would she start now??
And that "sticky residue" is her bodies way of trying to get rid of the damned thrush, because BELIEVE me, its makes you V grumpy

any woman can get thrush for the first time, even virgins, its not an std, has she been on antibiotics recently? this can cause it, also diet and perfumes in bath foam etc. its absolutely no indication that shes having an affair. if u have it u need treatment too otherwise she will become reinfected. its always a good idea to check with a doctor to ensure it is thrush first time u have it, after that u can buy treatment over the counter in pharmacies.

as far as i know, you dont have to get thrush from another person, you can get it if you wear non-breathable material underwear. your body responds to the bacteria down there and thrush is the infection as a result. your hormone levels change sometimes too, like when you are pregnant or even after birth and while breastfeeding, and that can trigger it too. so maybe ask a few questions, before thinking the worst. not saying she couln't be up to no good tho!

You can get thrush through any number of reasons, it is very common amongst women,if she has been on anti biotic, if she has been wearing tight clothing, even by something she has eaten. Anyone can get thrush don't be so quick to judge her you should be ashamed of yourself.

You mostly get thrush through wearing tight jeans a lot and also lacy knickers and anything really that isnt sensible cotton . Its not necessarily an std. If she has thrush she will be grumpy - it itches like f**k (pardon the pun)

well, everyone already told you tons of the same thing so....i will tell you that your wife needs to be treated which i believe she can do it with over the counter meds.
The other thing is, that YOU need to be treated also. It will stay on you and you will be itching and you will be scratching and it does not look good when you do that so...
Sorry but do go get something for yourself also.
I have problems when i take baths. There is no cheating on my part....so i don't take baths or go into pools.
