It's anything but funny.
If you're in the USA and your boyfriend knew he had HPV then you may have legal recourse against him depending on where you live. California, Oklahoma, and some other US states plus Canada all have legislation that makes it illegal to knowingly pass HPV on to others. If he did that then sue the ba$tard.

I have been dealing with the virus since '99. Testing positive for HPV means you have one or more of the 12 high risk HPV types that are found in cancer. It doesn't mean your virus will progress to cancer. I am not sure what your doctor recommended, most will follow up with a colpscopy giving the doctor a better look at your cervix and see how much involvement the virus has caused. You and your partner share your HPV types. You can't ping pong it back and forth. However until your body builds immunity to the virus new tissue can become infected with your shared HPV type. First it is important to make sure your boyfriend does not have small flat warts. These sometimes are difficult to see. Your body friend may not have any signs he still carries your share HPV types. If your doctor recommends that your treat the virus it may be a good idea to use condoms until you have too clear Paps. Condoms can help the virus regress and can provide more protection to your cervix while your body is learning to recognize the virus and build antibodies to your shared types. There is no cure for the virus but most people do build immunity to the virus. However in the event that you break up you will share your virus with your next sex partner. You may also want to talk with your doctor about the vaccine if you are 26 years or younger. You may not have acquired all four HPV types the virus prevents. Your will still need to have regular screening as recommended by your doctor. I wish you well.

There is nothing funny about HPV. For the most part, it's harmless, but it can cause serious complications for women like cervical cancer.
If your boyfriend thinks it's funny he gave you HPV, then see if he thinks it's funny when you dump him (which I suggest you do). Take care!

Does he think it's funny that some strains of hpv are the leading causes of cervical cancer? Does he think it's funny that he has it, too? Even if you do not have warts, you can unknowingly have the disease and because of the bad karma he has, he will have a di*k full of them soon, and I would get rid of him QUICK!!!!!

Genital Warts are not funny. I would not see such a creep again...especially if giving you an STD is funny to him. Who knows what is next?
