Ideally, if they're consuming a well-balanced, healthy diet, then none.

Check the label of the vitamins, and some will indicate if they are vegan or not. Things like Omega 3 Fatty Acids should come from sources like Evening Primrose Oil, or Flaxseed Oil. Most of the time there's a vegan option for the non-vegan vitamins. Also, be careful about the casings themselves, because they may be made out of a non-veg beef gelatin product.
Also be sure to get a full compliment of minerals that are often found in meat. These pills/tablets tend to be the big ones, without casings. They're tough to take, but they're important if you aren't eating meat.

I take a vegan one-a-day multiple vitamin 1-2 times per week or just when I feel a little run down. I also take a vegan calcium, magnesium and vitamin D every once in a while if I'm extra sore from working out. Mostly I rely on a varied diet that includes a few fortified foods.

The only nutrients lacking in a vegan diet are B-12 and vitamin D. You can take supplements, but if you get some sunshine every day, you're good on the D, and you can get B-12 from nutritional yeast, sea vegetables, and algaes (spirulina, blue-green algae, etc.) As long as you have a balanced diet, and intake lots of dark leafy greens, you're good.

I take a vegan multivitamin just for "insurance." The only nutrient you need to supplement, though, is B12. The rest you can get from food.
One a Day is not vegan, so it wouldn't really matter if you were taking the men's formula or the women's! They all have gelatin and have nutrients derived from animal sources (I think the men's formula even has fish in it.)

PEOPLE take different vitamins. Vegans are people.
I take a b complex a time or two a week, and I add an EFA 3,6,9 to my smoothies once in a while. Sometimes I add flaxseed meal into my oatmeal. I don't take anything religiously. I eat a varied diet, I get a considerable amount of leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables.

i'm a vegan teenager who has regular doctor appointments, and i'm perfectly healthy each and every time..i've had blood test and nothing ever goes wrong. i do not take supplements/vitamins at all. don't even begin to think you have to rely on any pill to stay "healthy", that is B.S. all you have to do is eat enough of the healthy and goood stuff and you'll be fine and fit! =o] good luck. xoxoxox

As long as you are eating a balanced diet you shouldn't need to take any. When I'm sick I do take a multi-vitamin but that's something I think you should do regardless of your diet. I use the vegetarian multi-vitamins from GNC.

if you are vegan, you do need to take vitamins. My son is vegan and takes a handful a day, Vitamin D seems to be one that is essential as well as B12.. I have included a couple of links that might help you out. The second one seems to be the best one for vitamins.
