she acted like it was not a disease, she said what it was but I have forgotten. I am trying to find out more about it. All I remember is that she said that her GYN said the effects usually comepletly clear within about 5 years. She said the effects dissapated for a while and she was excited but then they came back even after the GYN said it looked to be gone from her system. She also said she somewhat blamed it on her past partner. Any help on what her condition could have been. It wasn't the commonly mentioned Herpes, Chlamydia, Syphilis, Gonorrhea.

unless she called it something completely different, it wasn't HPV. I know if I heard the name it would ring a bell... I also know that doesn't help you....

It's probably HPV. Most woman can get rid of the virus on their own. Their body basically "fights it off".

However, since it is a virus and there are NO cures for viruses, some people will have the virus their entire life and are unable to get rid of it.

It's estimated about 75 - 80% of the world will have HPV at some point in their life. It is VERY common.
