Its natural to hurt when you've been rejected, but PLEASE don't punch your dog. I can kind of understand why you would feel like eating meat. You were the one who was turned down and not eating meat is a part of who you are. So by eating meat your making a statement that your not the same person who that was rejected. I often feel like "rebelling" against myself when I feel upset, but then I remind myself that things I'm thinking about doing are destructive and won't solve anything.

What I would suggest is talking to a friend about it. Just getting your feels off your chest can help. I'm not sure how serious you were about punching your dog but if you feel that bad you might want to take a look at this site about anger:

Here are a few sites on how to cope when your rejected:

I hope this helps. Take care!

This just sounds like common ol' garden depression to me. Find a pint of your favorite Ben and Jerry's, a good movie and wallow for a while. Then, work it off with some Tae Bo or a kick boxing class at your local YMCA. No matter what you do, leave your dog and the cow out of it. Once you have calmed down, talk with someone you trust or a councilor. If you want to go back to meat after you feel better emotionally, then consult a dietitian and do so slowly so that your body has time to adjust to the change.

What the hell is wrong with you that you would want to harm an innocent animal because someone you thought you loved hurt you?! Get a grip, man! If you must punch something, punch a wall, a pillow, something inanimate. HUG your dog; it will raise your spirits--really.

If you want to eat something hearty, get a veggie burger. Gardenburger Flame Grilled are pretty close to "meaty." Put on some loud music and blast it (but not after 10:00 at night-- do be considerate of your neighbors). Find something you can tear into while you eat to focus your negative emotions. But don't eat meat because you're angry.

I have to ask, why are you vegetarian? If it's for health reasons, one burger is definitely not going to kill you. If it's because of the cruelty involved in the meat industry and you just have to have meat, keep in mind not all the levels of cruelty are the same. Some places, including McDonald's, have made strides in the right direction. They've upped their standards for what they'll accept. They're looking toward more humane suppliers. It's still not a good situation, but it's a step. So, they're the best option for fast food. Otherwise, just look for organic, it's at least somewhat better. Then, you can give in this time without feeling too bad about it.

Don't eat your feelings. Confront them, and spend your time doing things you couldn't do before. This is a good time to accomplish something that you've always wanted to accomplish. Go out with the guys, go back to school, paint, take a trip, or something like that.

I would suggest stop feeling bad for yourself and go and do something constructive, like go for a run or do some weights..

or go out somewhere and try and get another girlfriend?

I dont see how abusing or eating animals is going to help in this particular situation :/

ANIMAL ABUSER!!! don't punch the poor dog. eat meat for god damn sake. just don't ask me to watch you devour an animal's flesh. Do you remember why you went veg in the first place? was it for health reasons or ethical? Think of the animals! :( and while you're at it, watch this. : www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM3Ue-2Mi3Q

if youre significant other "knocked you back," dont go back on your ways and sacrifice even a portion of who you are. you'll find someone who cares about every aspect of you. oh and please be nice to the dog. it really isnt the dogs fault.
